Our Tripawd Tuesday spotlights are back! Today we are happy to share the story of Sasha the Doberman from California. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma, she amazed everyone around her with her resilience and determination. Her story by her dad Oscar will start your day off right!
Meet Sasha the Determined Doberman
I had her since she was 7 weeks old , it has been a journey of so much happiness and just a lil bit of anguish but we love our Sasha to death
How old is your Tripawd?
When and Why did your Tripawd lose a leg?
- Osteocarcoma on her right shoulder
How did your Tripawd adapt to life on three?
- Very well better than I expected
What are your Tripawd’s favorite things to do?
- She loves swimming in lakes , rivers , but hates the bath tub
If you went through amputation surgery recovery with your animal, what did you think would happen after surgery? Did your worst fears happen? How did you cope?
- She was in a lot of paint the first night which was heart breaking . Luckily she has been doing amazingly well adapting to her new life situation
What is the biggest lesson you learned from your Tripawd?
- Never under estimate the power of a Doberman and their determination to carry on with lifes challenges.
What is your best advice to someone who is about to go through amputation with their pet, or someone who is thinking of adopting a Tripawd?
- Although it’s terrifying to have to go through something like this it’s important to stay positive. We have to stop and not just think about ourselves but think about our pets well being
