Ignore the pump. The oil is worth it.
I was looking for something to help my chopin (chihuahua/minpin mix) with her skin, fur and overall health. Issues like constipation, anal glad swelling/rupture, constant itching/dry skin plagued her for years. I use gentle shampoo in her baths and use a brush to get down to her skin then rub her down with coconut oil. She’s getting a probiotic daily to help with her potty problems. But we were still having problems.I read that adding a good quality salmon oil to their food helps with a variety of issues and some proteins are rough on their little systems. I switched her to a salmon dog food right away and took a chance on the small bottle of this stuff. After 3 months on the salmon food she was going more regularly. Her fur started shining a little and she has more energy. Now the reviews of this oil itself (not the pump) are really good so I tried the small bottle. She’s a small dog so we used half a pump in her food morning and night. It lasted about 2 months. I’m sure it would have lasted much longer had it not leaked 40% of it’s contents due to the shotty pump on the SMALL bottle. I put a paper towel under it to catch the dripping which appears to be caused by a pressure build up as it doesn’t leak when you pump it but come back a few minutes later and it’s slowly trickling out of the screw cap down the sides of the bottle.I opted for the bigger bottle on my next purchase and had a replacement bottle on hand just in case. But I didn’t need it. The pump on the big bottle is fine.I noticed about half way through the small bottle that her fur was actually soft. I was resigned to dealing with her needle like fur for life because I love the little bear, but wow, it’s so soft! It shines and the flakes are gone. She still gets a little itchy but she’s an inside dog so I attribute the random scratching to the ac pulling moisture from her skin like it does mine. Plus the cold snaps of 30’s – 40’s in the morning then 80’s in the afternoon don’t help. I wasn’t expecting her to never scratch again, but am pleasantly surprised by how drastically it’s reduced.Potty time is regular now. No more stop, try, shake it off, walk, stop try…. Now it’s first time every time.I will say this much, you’re gonna want to start brushing your dog’s teeth because boy does it make their breath stink. Lol. I’d never done it before, but found it pretty easy.I’m still seeing improvement in her since adding this oil and am so happy I found it.It’s more than worth it’s weight in gold. So dont let the bad reviews on the pump keep you from experiencing the benefits of the oil.

Works well
We used salmon oil previously, but we had issues with the bottle leaking. This bottle and product work great. No issues with leaks, it keeps our dogs skins free from friends, and we see we have less shedding, itching, or scratching when we use routinely. The only issue is it does give our dogs some loose stool. Otherwise, itâs a great value for the product and a bottle lasts a good while!

IT TAKES AWHILE
Neither of my dogs mind the smell or taste I put a couple squirts on daily and have been using a few months now. They still have flaky skin but the coat on our Auzzie is nice and shiny again. This is a product that takes time for those results but is also good for overall joint health and other essential needs

Hope this helps
It’s been about 2 weeks since I’ve started my cat on this oil ..I put it on his dry food 1/4 teaspoon .so far he has tolerated it with no problems but I don’t feel good about increasing it since he only gets a 1/4 cup of kibble split into 3 x per day and I don’t want to make his food to oily.i will update again after a month of use to see if there is any noticeable difference in his limp or his coat. Plus customer service is great they reply back even on weekends .Update..I def see a difference in his coat..he had bad dry flaky skin and after 3 weeks that was gone completely. And I give him a full pump 2x per day . It does not smell bad and sometimes the pump may have a bit drip out but I keep it in a baggy so it doesn’t get on anything .as needed i change the baggy and wash the bottle off.no biggie
