Very calming
At first it was like throwing a switch. My hyperactive dog froze like a statue when wearing the thundershirt. Eventually she got used to it enough to become more active, but it still calms her. Sometimes I just wave it in her face to remind her to settle down! It’s helped her stop barking at thunder. It also helps cure separation anxiety. The Velcro makes is super easy to fasten it around her and to remove it. The Velcro strips are wonderfully wide.

Well, it reminded me of a t-shirt period. This was not worth the purchase, my dog did not even notice it when I put it on her, I was expecting it to be a little weighted or something so that my dog would feel safe, like someone was hugging her – I guess I had high expectations for this and ended up returning it due to it was not what I wanted.

The vest is easy to put onto my small dog and easy to adjust. It stretches to increase or decrease the pressure on my dog’s body. I’ll have to wait for the next thunderstorm to see how well it reduces my dogs anxiety/fear of the noise.

Not worth the money
It seemed to work through the first 2 storms and after that, worthless. What works best? Holding your arm around your doggie and reading. I read to my son who is visually impaired during thunderstorms and thatâs what calms my fur baby more than anything.

Our overactive/hyper Yorkie mix loved this thing, and it visibly made a difference. He would still play, bark, ruff-house and have fun. But he was far less aggressive and reactive- he just seemed more secure and content with it. It was a big factor in other training techniques. I highly recommend!
