Velcro strap a great plus
This worked great for our 10lb poodle that bites even WITH vet provided sedatives and a muzzle. It allowed me to groom his legs and trim his nails with relative ease. The velcro strap wraps around and creates a soothing ‘hug’ which definitely contributed to his calming down for a while, as well as keelpng him from wiggling out.

I bought this to support my active chihuahua as I give her subcutaneous fluids for a medical condition. I use a grooming table to suspend her and keep her in place while I do this, for her safety. This item is well made, I like the thicker middle strap that keeps her in place.

Our dog really hates having her toenails trimmed. In the past it has taken 4 of us to hold her down tight enough that a 5th person might be able to clip them but she would inevitably squirm out of our grasp despite our best efforts. For the last few years we have just taken her to the vet to get them trimmed, but itâs getting harder and harder to schedule a vet tech appointment and the cost is becoming absurd. This hammock contraption looked like a promising solution to our problems, and while it is definitely a huge improvement to needing 5 adults to clip her nails at home, it does have some flaws the biggest being there is no guidance/instructions in the package for how to best hang the item. A couple of tips for anyone thinking about using this without a traditional dog grooming table/armâ¦you will want to make sure the hooks/points you will suspend the âhammockâ from are rated for more than the weight of your dog – the dog will be moving around so itâs needs to be able to handle a dynamic weight. Also, it would be a good idea to either have 2 points to hang the hammock from so the carabiners attached to the hammock donât slip towards each other. If you only have one sturdy/weight bearing overhead attachment point as we did you will definitely want to make the rope attached to carabiner closest to your dogs head just a little shorter than the rope attached near their hips. This will hopefully help keep their heads more elevated and in a more natural position as theyâre hanging. Our dog looked like she was getting ready to dive into a pool which really stressed her out. During our first attempt using this hammock one of us held our dogâs head and shoulders higher while the other trimmed her nails. Overall it was definitely a huge improvement to our previous system requiring 5 adults but next time weâll hang the hammock with the head end higher.

My poodle absolutely HATES to have her nails cut and this solved the issue of her trying to bite on my hand everytime I get near her foot. It takes a lot of talking to your pet and letting them know its all ok because they will be scared being up in the air like that

1st time I could clip his nails in 10 years.
Y’all I wish I had gotten a before picture, but his nails had gotten so long that they were catching on each other. Joey is a 17 lb Chihuahua and very high strung. He would act like you were trying to kill him and we never could clip his nails safely. They were finally so long I was desperate to try anything. This thing is amazing. It still took 2 of us, one to clip and one to position the hammock and hold the plate of peanut butter, but we got every single nail. Front and back. It is a freaking miracle. My only regret was not ordering one size smaller because I think it is slightly too big, but got two chihuahua’s done in less than 30 minutes without drama. Seriously, get it.
