Upon receiving this, the first thing I did was toss out the seat belt connector and I suggest you do the same. I’ve had one of my dogs step on the seat belt latch before in just the right spot to release the buckle on another one I had. NOT GOOD. I was looking for something more sturdy for a dog who hates the leash, doesn’t like feeling tied up. She’s a rescue so we have no real idea of how her life was before we got her. She fights the leash but it’s necessary for things like trips to the vet. We got a great harness for her out of fear she would choke herself with her collar. I needed a good strong restraint in the car as well, and landed upon this. I use the long section, and it’s attached to the connector at the back edge of the seat and bottom of the seatback. I used the locked caribiner on it so I don’t have to worry about it coming off. It takes some work to get it in there but once it’s there, you can just leave it. It won’t interfere with passengers who might need to sit there. Once installed I pulled on it, a lot. I wrapped a strap into the loop to get a better grip and pulled some more, every very hard using my full weight. It stayed, did not com apart, so I am comfortable that this will work for my dog. If you don’t like the fitting that are on it, you can easily change them out. You can buy locking caribiners which are the only ones I suggest for this since once they’re locked into place, they cannot accidentally be opened. You could use one to attach both of these to make one long one if needed although I don’t personally think having a dog on a long leash in a car is a safe thing to do. The should NOT be able to get up between the front seats. These are meant to hold a dog in a small safe area and keep them in your car in the event of an accident. Too many dogs get lost running away from car accidents because they were not properly restrained. Kennels can get tossed around and spring open. This is the only good solution for keeping your dog safe in your car.

Good Restraints For Small Dog
I ordered these restraints for my 15lb. Cairn Terrier, so that he could safely ride in my classic cars with me. They are a good length and seem sturdy enough for him. I wouldn’t recommend them for heavier dogs, they’re fairly thin. They attach easily to his harness. I haven’t tried using the seatbelt buckle yet (because they don’t work in my car’s seatbelt latches), but I tested it and it does latch into my modern car’s buckles.

Love it! Works great for my 78 lb dog. VERY sturdy item. Well made. Allows for limited movement so my pup can change positions and get comfy. Peace of mind…just in case of an accident. Overall an awesome product. I just bought another one for our new dog who we will be getting very soon…that’s how much I love this item!

Two pack plus seatbelt attachment is working great to hold my guy securely from the front of his harness and the back of the harness. We have the doors off the Jeep so I wanted to have him very secure. It’s a little short on the top of the harness but if I wasn’t using the other one for his front I could use it as an extension. I have him in a Chi’s choice harness that has an attachment on top and at the chest.

Good value- 2 in a pack with also a seatbelt clip. Tried it, works well. This is the 2nd I’ve bought as I wanted two seatbelt clips. Good value for $16. Cost. ( bought another earlier for $25. And should return it as it’s the exact same as these two. ) my dog has chewed through several leashes so this has been a success so far.
