Easy to use
This safety harness has been easy to use on our puppy without any issues, plus it was affordable for the level of quality. I did sew most of the seams to reinforce them since a couple of the reviews mentioned issues with the seams. So far we have not had any problems with our 28lb puppy wearing it.

The straps on the harness are clever and easily adjust down to fit our dog
Tried two other car harnesses – returned both of them because they were too small for my 80# dog. The X-Large size we ordered is bigger than we need. The straps on the harness are clever and easily adjust down to fit our dog. The dog is comfortable with the Solvit Deluxe harness. Easy to put-on and attach to the car’s seat belt shoulder strap.Holds the dog in place when the car is turning and stopping. Otherwise he can move around the back seat… within limits. Interestingly, we can now leave the rear car door window down all the way. The harness adjusts to allow the dog to get to the open window, and restrains him from any impulse to jump out the window. He loves that.

Dog car harness, Dog seat belt
The product seems to be well made for “average” dog, but an aggressive chewer will gnaw through this harness.Relatively easy to attach to dog & vehicle, but dogs that are highly active may chew this harness loose. Meanwhile, dogs need to be in a crate or in a more durable harness. I’m unaware of any fabric or material that would enduregnawing or chewing by an active dog.

Incorrect SIZE CHART
I bought the XL because the size chart says 60 lbs + that is incorrect it is 75 lbs + that is a difference of 15 lbs. I went with the XL because my dogs are around 65-70 lbs.Putting them on is a pain, the adjustment straps are not easy to use at all, not like a normal harness. Maybe it makes them more secure. I don’t have time to get a replacement now before our trip so we will just have to make due. Also the Medium that says it is good for up to 50 lbs… not true. My 3rd dog is around 35-40 lbs and it already stretched out as much as possible. I can’t say I’m thrilled with the sizing at all on these. The harness themselves look like they are sturdy and comfortable with no arm pit rubbing on the dogs. I will update my review once I have used them.

Kept my 61 pound fur child in the back seat!!!
I have a 61 pound lab mix that is 15 months old. She gets pretty wild in the car. I have a small 4 door sedan too, so not much room for her to roam around! This product is a LIFE saver! Every time I had to take her to the vet or the groomers, my anxiety went through the roof because she wouldn’t be still.I used it for the first time on Saturday to take her to the groomers which is a 35 mile round trip. She wasn’t too happy about being confined, but it did confine her really well! She eventually just gave up trying to fight it and laid down! It was great!!!

Safe Riding for our dogs
My one year old shelter German Shepherd outgrew his car harness in 5 mos. so I went looking for a harness that met safety specifications. I found one that did, the same brand as the outgrown one. I checked to make certain it had met the safety tests first. I was glad to get the same brand harness as it’s pretty easy to put on. I do like the hookup better and it prevents my dog from moving around too much. He knows we are going in the car when I take out the harness. I am pleased to know that he is safe and will not get loose and/or become a missile to anyone in the car. Recently, a car was in an accident and the dog got loose and still has not been found. With the harness this would not have happened. Just as we need seat belts, so do our 4-footed friends need a safety harness.

Just Buy The Tether Piece
So my dog already had a harness, a good one, for walking and what not, and the harness part that comes with this is goofy. It just slid all around and obviously I tightened it but it was almost too tight at one point and still shifty just because of the design. My Golden Retriever likes to turn around in a circle or two every once in a while to find his perfect spot to sit so the way this product that does not come with a manual or instructions or anything at all, so I looked up videos on YouTube after trying over and over to get him strapped in and failing, and the videos show a happy dog, being buckled in, and sitting in place without movement and boom end of video. Well that is nice but not realistic and if you follow these directions your dog is going to wrap itself in a knot with the seatbelt while you watch through your rear view mirror, driving down 95 unable to assist, slightly amusing but only for a moment because then obviously you have to immediately pull over to help your good boy before he hurts himself. So I, in typical âmeâ fashion, of course did not get myself over to an Amazon âdrop offâ location in time to return the package so I was stuck with the item and driving about 600 miles a week on the freeway in desperate need of a safe situation for my good boy. And I remembered! There was a âthingyâ in the listings item description, I guess I should back up a bit and tell you that the handy dandy âthingyâ aka âTetherâ was not included in any photos or videos online and I am pretty sure itâs given as a bonus if youâre purchasing that one âthing-a-ma-jigâ that like goes on the roof of your car and your dog runs around in the back seat like a maniac (my apologies, I mean no offense to the smaller puppers out there that are able to trot around back of vehicle). However the thing-a-ma-jig does not look like itâs a super tough, secure, crash tested with 100lb dog, seatbelt like mechanism to begin with so abundance of space for my doggo or not, Iâll not be purchasing that product. So! The tether, the item you can buy on Amazon for a 1/4 of the price of this product that 100% is the only item in the box that I trust is manufactured with material strong enough to execute a seatbelt like safety performance was my new vision in solution. So after hunting the box out of my other âneed to be returned to Amazon but have surpassed their 30 day grace period to do soâ items, I shake and low and behold the tether ! It falls right out of the box and slams itâs metal clippie-do right onto my toe! ððððNow, short story long, I have taken the metal clip of the tether and clipped it to the seatbelt that I then lock into the seatbelt clicker thing, and then I use the harness I already have and is clearly a safer vest for Frank The Golden Will Not Retrieve Anything Tank, and thread it through the loop end of the tether whilst fastening itâs closure clickie-do. And Viola! Big Boy can move around and the seatbelt doesnât lock stiff from being pulled at an awkward diagonal angle, because thatâs not longer an issue with this spectacularly engineered resolution, but still locks when jerked on like itâs suppose to.So just buy a tether.

Received PetSafe branded one. Great deal!
Well made- covered edges- plenty adjustable for multiple sizes. Does not however have the seat belt latch as this item shows. Just a loop strap attached to carabiner. Goes thru seat belt strap
