It’s a very fluffy pate, almost a whipped texture.
I have five kitties, one of whom doesn’t eat any wet food, and one who lives mostly segregated because despite being elderly, mostly blind, mostly deaf, and having ZERO teeth, she wants to kill two of the others. Only two, not all four. Those two live in fear of Annie, who’s the smallest of all of them. She’s been a bit sickly lately, and she’s now on multiple meds and she and we just changed her diet to mostly Sheba chicken with extra gravy. Historically she’s not a fan of pates. But strangely, she’s the only one of the four who eat wet food who will eat this, and she loves it, maybe because this one is much fluffier than usual canned pates. They’re quite big cans, and they’re priced in line with what I consider mid-level wet cat food, not the fancy or prescription stuff. I’m thrilled she likes this, and it hasn’t caused any tummy upset, which is a common problem for her— she can’t eat the gravy laden senior pouches, for example, without becoming horribly ill. As long as Annie keeps loving this, I will absolutely keep buying it for her. She’s old; she should get whatever she wants!

Solid Gold makes excellent pet food. My cats and I all agree on this. In fact, their kibble is a mainstay here. Because cats shouldn’t eat hard food exclusively, my house panthers have half their diet being canned soft food. I prefer to serve pate because I can easily mix more water into it to increase the cats’ moisture intake. I’ve included pictures showing the label, particularly the ingredients. I’ve also included a picture of the pate. It’s easy to divide it in half if you need to for portion control.The cans are recyclable. They have pull tabs for easy opening. The food doesn’t smell gross, like some cat food does (don’t get me wrong – it’s still cat food). It’s made of good ingredients. Most importantly, my cats love it. It gets an easy 5-star rating from everyone here!

I have some fussy cats and it is a nightmare finding wet food they will actually eat. Most of the time I will try new brands and at most the will lick off the juice or gravy and leave the food. I was really surprised when all 3 cats approved of this food. They all scarfed it down fast and were looking for more the next day. I have never tried a food with coconut oil and I would not think it would be appealing to cats but I was wrong. These cans are pretty big so you may want to save some for the next day. Sadly while this is some great food the price is much too high to fit into my budget with 3 cats so I can’t get this all the time which is sad because it would be a solution to my never ending trying new brands hoping they will eat it. It’s a high quality food that is worth it if you can afford it.

Don’t know how to write a review. Cat eats it and seems to enjoy. The cost is on par with other brands. It looks to be made from quality ingredients but who really knows. Smell is strong cat food smell.
