Perfect for slowing down fast eaters
I mentioned to a friend how my chihuahua ate so fast that she would then hover like a vulture over my rat terrier. She recommended a maze bowl. It is the perfect size and is sturdy. It has suction cups on the bottom, which is perfect for when sheâs eating, but annoying on the counter. So I just put a cloth underneath when preparing. It was definitely worth the money because it slows down my dog enough where my rat terrier can finish first finally. Ease for her to eat her food out of (in fact she enjoys it as she is the one to clean up after everyone is done).

Returned after a week
Received on January 6, 2025. Noticed small pink pieces on the floor January 13, 2025. After inspection 5 of the silicone suction cups on the bottom were torn. Dog did not chew or damage the bowl. It was used and hand washed as intended, sticking to linoleum. Returned because of the suction cups falling apart. Feeder worked for 7lb Pomeranian but eventually when all of the cups come apart, it won’t stick to anything.

Good but not so good
I love the design and size. The suction part sucks. My cat is able to lift it up while eating trying to get to his food.

More “Cat Sized” Than Others.
If you have a cat that’s accustomed to wolfing down its kibble, then you know that this can lead to your cat putting on weight and even vomiting. Slow feeder bowls are designed to slow pets down at feeding time, but most are scaled for dogs, not cats. This dish is 6″ in diameter, making it just slightly bigger than a typical cat food saucer. It has a raised lip around the entire outside and channels inside the dish that make it more difficult for your cat to pick up entire mouthfuls of food at a time. The only possible downside of a dish like this is that it may increase whisker fatigue, especially near the outside of the bowl where the outer lip is higher. I think the whisker fatigue could be somewhat mitigated by a slow introduction of this bowl, using it some of the time and not all of the time, or using it as a training device until your cat understands they don’t have to race through their meal, and slowly switching back to a conventional bowl. Obviously, you know your cat, so do what works best for her/him.The underside of the dish has a lot of small suction cups like an octopus tentacle that make it stay put on any smooth surface, whether that’s a tile floor or a riser that elevates your cat’s food dish. Since it’s made of silicone, this is helpful, since it would otherwise slide around.Overall, this is a nice dish for cats or small dogs that does work to slow them down to a degree. It’s not so deep as to be outright frustrating, so more aggressive eaters may not be as deterred. For cats, it may cause some level of whisker fatigue, so you may want to consider using it as a training tool more than as a long-term permanent solution. It’s easy to clean since nothing really sticks to silicone, which may make it a better choice than a ceramic slow feeder, especially if you intend to use it for wet food as well.

Quality
We have 8 puppies who was in need of learning to eat slowly. This product has been perfect for them. Two feedings is all it took for them with this product.

Shallow, good value for slow eating bowl for my cats
Great at slowing down my fast eating kitty. Very good value for slow eating bowl and quite shallow for cat whiskers. 😉

Dry poor quality. Does work.
We picked this up for a little dog in my house, because my big dog kept carrying her bowl outside. I was hoping the suction cups on the bottom of the bowl would help – but they donât actually do anything to prevent the bowl from moving. Theyâve since been largely chewed off (both dogs responsible). The slow feeder works fine when using dry food, but the rest of the execution is disappointing.

Bad Smell
This slow feeder is a great idea…but it stinks!Perhaps dogs in their zest for food will not pay attention to the odor…but our cat, she definitely is not impressed with her new feeder. We try to feed her dry with this slow feeder, so that is the experience I relate this to.The maze configured into this slow feeder works well to distribute the food…bunching it in the innermost portion of the feeder allows for the dry food to be high enough to get her to smell the food at least. She sometimes clears the upper layers that are easy to get to…but that’s after going without food for a longer time than usual.I tried to overcome the smell by putting dry food in every part of this feeder and leaving it there…didn’t work either. The maze is a good concept. Our cat had a problem with the depth of the ridges and getting her face down in there. It does work to slow her down though. The suction cups on the bottom work well to hold the feeder in place on a non carpeted feeding area floor. Don’t prep the feeder on your counter and then try to move it to the feeding area…it sticks to your counter and when you unstick it…the dry food goes flying around the kitchen from the pop of the suction cups releasing.
