works and is soft on the teeth
this fits perfectly in the bowl and actually slows him down (for a little bit). the silicone is easy to scrub in between and soft enough for the teeth. the Valleys are deep enough to where he has to work at it and not just demolish his bowl. the suction is strong, but not watertight. some wet food or topping broth does seep under. just remember to remove and clean under it.

Our stainless steel feeding bowls are 6″ across the bottom and this insert fits perfectly. It slows the golden retriever down to the same timeframe as our food-chill German Shepherd. Love it!

Great way to slow down the eating pace of your puppy.
This is exactly what I needed to put inside my puppyâs food bowl to slow him down when he eats. We use a Yeti bowl and this insert sticks right to the metal using suction cups. Very happy with the price and it is sturdy and well-made. Would highly recommend if youâre looking for something to go inside the bowl that you already have to slow down the pace of your dogâs eating. Our puppy was eating so fast he would throw up at times. He hasnât thrown up once since weâve gotten this. Easy to use, easy to clean.

Works but you need to wash after every use
My dog definitely eats slower using it but if you donât immediately clean it after each meal, the water and food get stuck under and around the suction cups and it is a breeding ground for bacteria and mold. Made the mistake of not washing it after 2 meals and it smelled awful.

Slowed Down Our Puppy Eating
This feeding pan insert did exactly what we needed. Our new St Bernard puppy was used to eating as fast as she could while competing with her litter mates. She would eat 12 oz of puppy bites within 3-5 minutes. With this insert it is now 15-20 minutes. This stopped tummy aches and regurgitating.Make sure to measure the inside diameter of your pan. Ours matched up exactly with the recommended size for our pan size. The bottom suction cups firmly hold the insert in place in the metal pan. It has not come loose from the metal pan bottom. It is made of very durable and tough material But it is not too stiff. It just makes the puppy work a little, and take smaller bites. We do sometimes place the feed pan up out of reach to insure the puppy does not try to treat it as a chew toy. This was our first time trying an insert, and we are completely satisfied. Highly recommend.

Helps with slowing down eating, not great for some bowls
This item does help with slowing down my puppy’s eating and is of good quality. However, the design is good for some bowls (bowls with upright walls) but not great for others. Our bowl has pretty sloped walls, and while the item is the right size given the flat area of the bowl, it doesn’t extend wide enough such that a lot of dog food winds up between this item and the wall of the bowl.

If you are wanting these for a medium bowl then you will need a large or xl as a medium fits a small dish and is too small for a medium…..not happy
