I love the weight of this collar, it is sturdy and balanced – not heavy. I also am grateful for the silicon dog tag to muffle the sound of her other tags. The artistic design is beautiful and the materials are durable.Initially, I had a concern about the lock mechanism, as I had to push in the sides and jiggle it quite a bit to get it off. I was concerned about this and contacted the Seller. They responded quickly and shipped me a replacement. The new collar has a smoother transition when unlocking it which I feel is safer in case of emergency.The Seller was very helpful and restored my faith in this product and buying from them. (Thanks again!!)Overall, we love it (we also bought the matching leash *which is equally fantastic*) and I highly recommend these products and buying from the Seller.

Great collar; terrible color options
Ruffwear makes excellent products and I’ve used this particular style of collar for 10+ years. These collars are high-quality and last forever. Sadly, however, when I recently went to purchase one for the newest member of the family, I found that the collar is no longer available in standard, solid, inconspicuous colors. Maybe I’m old-fashioned, but the new designs feel like they’re trying way too hard to be cool and trendy. I’m outfitting a handsome dog, not a trendy teenager! I picked what appeared to be the least obtrusive (“Dusk Blue”) and it’s okay, but the solid colors were a whole lot nicer.Also, I agree with another reviewer who mentioned that the release mechanism on the metal buckle doesn’t seem to be as high-quality as in prior years. It’s still an excellent, strong, heavy-duty buckle which feels solid and helps keep the leash ring in a good position, but the two-pronged opening mechanism does not operate as smoothly as the ones on my prior Top Rope collars. Maybe it will loosen up a little over time.This collar is more expensive than most, but I think it’s worth the price based on the overall quality and durability. (But please, Ruffwear, bring back solid colors!)4 stars (5, if the color options were better).

extremely durable
i’ve waited several months before writing this, and i’ve got to hand it to this collar: it is tough. my dog goes hard every day, and i’ve had to wash this thing several times by now (in the machine, i don’t do hand washing). every time i do, it comes out of the washer looking like the day i received it in my mailbox. so far there is zero fraying (zero wear and tear of any sort actually) and the tags and hardware are still holding strong as ever. highly recommend.

Unique look, sturdy and functional design.
This is my second collar from Ruffwear. I use this one for everyday and the old one for the dog park. The clasp is really unique looking, very slim, and extremely durable. I’ve washed it to keep it new looking when they get dirty. Not too many dogs have a cooler looking collar. The new asymmetrical pattern is what drove me to get the second collar. I have a couple Ruffwear products and I really like their product line. Highly recommended.

Fantastic collar. Nice little touches like the silencer on the tag ring. I was a little skeptical about the d ring attachment always facing up but it actually works! Plenty of space for pitpat/gps tracker (or both as for my dog) to be attached and doesn’t affect the weight balance. Dirt and mud resistant, easy to clean and dries quickly. Taken in swimming pool and wild swimming regularly with no colour fade. Super comfortable and doesnt rub/thin coat like a lot of collars. Really great collar, very much worth the cost.
