Helpful for alleviating menstrual cramps
I suffer from painful menstrual cramps. Normally, I use a heating pad to help alleviate them, but I’ve heard good things about red light therapy, so I decided to give this belt a try. So far, it’s made a difference! I like that it can be wrapped around the body at different angles. While it is not long enough to wrap around my entire torso, it is able to cover my lower back just fine, which is primarily where I need it. My only complaint is that it needs to be plugged in to power on. However, I imagine this also makes it more effective. It also comes with a remote control that’s attached to it, which allows you to adjust the wavelength and set a timer. I need to do more research on what the different wavelengths mean, but so far, I’ve used it on the maximum wavelength for 30-minute increments without any issues. If anything, it’s very soothing. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a flexible red light wrap to alleviate cramping.

Seems high quality and functions as expected
Seems to work well but hard to tell what it’s doing for me since I do a lot of different health things to improve my health. I’m 5’4 and about 165 pounds (about a size 10 in women’s pants – smaller waist and bottom heavy tho). This wrap fit just perfectly around my abdomen to close with the velcro. It’s easy to operate and gets nice and warm. The very thick clear plastic over the lights isn’t exactly comfortable though and it’s all very bulky. The construction seems nice and durable. The remote on the cord is easy to operate. I wish it had some sort of beep or gentle vibration to let you know the timer was up. I sat quite a while once with this thing still wrapped around me because I didn’t realize it had turned off due to the time being up… I only checked because I wasn’t feeling warmth anymore.

850 nm Function Dead
Near Infra-Red function dead on arrival, right out of the box. Sending it back. Should have been more thoroughly tested before packaging. Disappointed.

The best thing about this is that it feels good
First, what I don’t like about this belt. The side with the infrared lights is covered in some kind of clear plastic (like those transparent plastic tarps) that really doesn’t bend that easily. Maybe it will loosen up over time and become more flexible, but I find it doesn’t really make good skin contact because it doesn’t want to be shaped around contours. I’ve gotten better results laying it flat on the bed and lying on top of it than I have trying to belt it around me.I need to treat mostly my lower back and hips (sacroiliac area) for pain and arthritis, and I can’t get good enough contact for that. It doesn’t drape over my shoulders where I really need it, either, at least not like a shawl, to treat the tops of my shoulders and neck at once. If wrapped around my mid-section to hit the flat length of my back, it works better; and maybe on the anti-inflammatory/deep treatment setting, this will have some impact “downstream” and “upstream” to alleviate soreness and discomfort in the two areas I most need this for.This belt requires plugging into an electrical socket, which makes sense because I’m guessing it uses too much power to stay consistently working and charged for longer therapy sessions. But that means you have to dedicate the time to being in one spot. (You couldn’t wear it while doing housework, for example, or other “kill two birds with one stone” activities older folks who have limited stamina for doing everything they have trouble doing rely on.)I’m sitting in my recliner right now with the belt on 850, the belt wrapped around my midsection, and the front of me where the belt ends join is heating up while it doesn’t seem as hot on my back. It may be great for those who have liver or digestive issues, though, because it does feel good on my GI tract.The instruction manual is well done and readable but is for all the products this company puts out. Because the belt I received was not labeled with a model number, I had to pick through all the product photos and pick the one that looked most like the one I have. Once I did that, the settings are fairly clearly explained, although they don’t discuss the choice of L1-L5 so I’m not sure how those settings affect the therapeutic levels of the lights. There is a clear graphic in the manual showing what the different light levels are used for, but not all the settings are choosable through this belt’s controls; you get All, 660, or 850. Does All include the entire light spectrum they show, or only the 660 and 850 bands combined?What I like about this belt is that the heat feels good. It does feel like it penetrates deeply on All and 850, which a regular heating pad does not. I’m not planning to use it for epidermal (skin) treatment, but I expect its inflexibility would make it even more difficult to position properly for those areas of the skin most people would want to treat (arms, face, legs). They do have other products listed in their manual that might work better for those areas, and some (like their full vest) would probably work better for my back and shoulder issues than this particular belt does.In short, it’s not a bad product, and I think with regular use it could make a real difference, but it’s not the best for what I need it for. YMMV.
