works even for dogs smaller than 18 lbs
I took a chance on this product because it’s natural and I wanted something natural for my pup to chew on. I wasn’t quite sure how he’d like it or use it since its large for his very small 3 lb stature but he’s teething and needed something to chew on and he took to this (after he stopped being afraid of it). My pup approaches anything new with caution. He sniffed this initially and didn’t want anything to do with it. As he tried to chew my fingers, I replaced my fingers with this coffee wood toy. He realized he enjoyed this and now he really enjoys it. There’s not much I can do when he is able to gnaw off small pieces of it off but he enjoys chewing on it and it’s natural so that makes me happy! Since he is so small and has a small mouth, he was only able to chew on the nubs protruding out of the wood. I hope eventually they will create a small version of this for dogs under 18 lbs with lots of little nubs so small pups like mine can really enjoy this!

Keeping up with the heavy chewer!
I love to give my pups things to keep their mouths busy to keep them out of trouble. I have tried other brands of this kind of chew without much success. This one, however, has been really great. My newest girl immediately was happy to see me open it and kept it for herself. I might have gotten a size too large for her, but she still insisted on figuring out how to carry it around the living room last night.It does shred but the pieces are soft and not sharp. I can run a hand vac around and get everything without damaging my vacuum, either.It kept her quiet and busy for nearly 45 minutes, which is impressive for her attention span. Even when the others were distracted with me shouting at my football game (go Birds!).This is a heavy piece of wood, though, even if it’s “soft wood” so when it is accidentally dropped on your foot it will still make a thud and you will say “ouch!”. But if this can give them something safer to chew on than the sticks in the yard or the firewood by the fireplace, I’m all for it. I’ll be adding a few more to my shopping list for the other pups as well.

Messy little log, but dog loves it
My dog is absolutely obsessed with coffee wood chews. I had to get this after the last one she got she widdled down after a few months. While I did look at the dimensions, I was still a bit shocked by how log shaped this is. I got the medium sized one for my 40 lb dog, and it is a bit funny to see her with it. She has been able to carry it around to wherever she wants to chew on it, but she definitely can’t get her mouth around much of it at once. With that said, she does really enjoy it, but not quite as much as the other coffee wood chew we have tried. In addition, this has had a lot more flecks of wood come off of it, probably mostly from the knobs of it, since the wood flecking has seemed to reduce as those have gone down. This is also quite a bit larger than the other coffee wood I’ve tried though, so this definitely has a benefit there.

This thing is HUGE!
So I got this for our Great Dane and it is a great size for him! It’s fairly heavy, looks like a burly chunk of wood. He has chewed on it frequently since i gave it to him. My main complaint is the terrible MESS this thing is making. We have tiny chunks of wood everywhere. And they don’t vacuum well. I almost think this would be a great piece for outside chewing. Aside from that though, my dog loves it, it’s holding up great (even though there are tiny chunks everywhere), it doesn’t have any odor, and since it’s wood it dries quickly!

My dog loves this
We have three dogs and the biggest dog loves to chew. She’s gone through antlers, nylabones, and everything in between. We picked this up to try for her and she really likes it.The wood chew is a really good size, it’s big and thick which she seems to like and it’s very durable. She’s been chewing on it for a while and it’s still holding up. I was initially concerned it would get gross, wet wood chips everywhere, but so far no problem.Overall, if you’re looking for a natural, durable chew, this is a great option.

My dog threw up!
The large size is huge. Our 70 lb dog could barely carry it but he loved it. After an hour of chewing, he was able to chew a few chunks off one corner. They were small and easy to vacuum up. But some of it must of caught in his throat because later he threw up all over a blanket (luckily the blanket was on the couch). We ended up tossing this in the trash can.
