    Plan Ahead!
I have accomplished a good number of difficult tasks in my long life but for something as seemingly easy as putting a harness on a dog, this was a doozy! Fortunately I have the most patient dog in the world (and some good cheese). The harness seems very well made. I expect it will be very durable. Your experience in using it will no doubt be different than mine because I didn’t get this for mobility issues (at least not the dog’s mobility). I’m an 83 pound woman with a 40 pound poodle trying to find a way to restrain her for grooming. I thought this harness would give me enough points of contact to secure her in a doorway/hall area where I could access her head, face, tail, feet & sanitary area from floor level because lifting her is out of the question.Don’t wait until you are ready to use it before getting it set up and adjusted. It took me an hour to accomplish this. I’ve used many different harnesses on many dogs but have never used a full body one before. Some better pictures in the description page would be a big help. The package it arrived in had no pictures or instructions so what you get from the description page pictures & video is what there is.There are 7 adjustable straps and nine buckles & hooks not counting the handle. I was cautious not to detach too many parts at once lest I completely confuse all of them (though there is a good diagram for that). Once I was clear on how everything went together I started with the harness front. As is often the case making one adjustment throws another out of kilter and so it went until everything was connected and adjusted. The chest support and hip sleeves fell off at every adjustment so we just left them off, with a little looser adjustment until we were done and then replaced them. It will still need a little tweaking but for the most part I think we’ve accomplished our task. While this was a much bigger job than I expected I think it is well worth doing since it will only have to be done once with maybe occasional adjustments. To my surprise, after all of this, Archie really likes it. She didn’t want to take it off and when I opened the bag again to look at one of the parts she came over all ready to “get dressed” again.I’ve posted pictures of her in the harness but without the handle.

    Easy to use
My dog was happy enough using this. It didn’t hurt her and she walked without pain because of it!

Best Friend Mobility Pro Full-Body Dog Lifting Harness
I got this for my beagle to help get him in the car after we go on our walk. The device comes in a clear plastic bag and ZERO instructions. What you see is what you get. For the life of me, I could not figure out how to put this on him. He’s only 2 years old, so anytime I’m on the floor with him, he thinks it’s playtime. So that was a challenge. I even watched 2 videos on how to put this on him. It’s either too large, I ordered the wrong size (although I did use their size guide) or I have it on incorrectly. Everything seems to be extremely well made with solid parts and buckles and clasps. Lots of padding for comfort for my dog and a very comfortable handle to lift him up. I just need help getting him into this. I’m a bit frustrated so I’m sure it’s user error. I don’t understand why a company would make such a fantastic product and then send it out without ANY kind of instruction manual to help us get this to work for our pet? This seems like it’s an incredibly high quality product. I REALLY wish they would have sent anything to help me put it on him. He’s can pull his legs right out so I’m not really sure what I’m doing wrong. I’m definitely not sending this back because it’s very good quality. When I have someone come over, they’re going to get nominated to help me put this on him. I’m really excited about using it so I might need to invite someone over soon. If I can get it on him, I’ll be sure to edit my review.

    Kind of Weird
We have had a 2-handled harness for our dog for years since we originally used it with our Lab whose spinal cord was degenerating & she couldn’t walk alone, and now for our Pit mix when we need to get her into the storm shelter during tornado season. I expected this one to be similar to the one we already have….and it is, in theory, but it’s kind of weird. We went by the measurement chart & ordered her a Large. When it came, I knew we’d have to adjust all the straps to fit her, so we wrestled it onto her (it wasn’t nearly as intuitive as our other one) & as soon as we’d get one part on, another part would fall off, which would make the first part fall off. Mind you, two of us were working on this together. I can’t imagine trying to get her fitted into this with only one person. It was oddly long down the spine, but then the chest would be really tight & the hips really loose. There’s supposed to be a shoulder-carrying strap, which I can’t even imagine trying on a dog that weighs more than 30 lbs. (ours weighs 70 & I’d never get my neck back in place if I tried carrying her like a purse on my shoulder…the thought of it is hilarious & not realistic in the least). We never were able to get it sized correctly before she ran out of patience, so we’ll try again, but I have very low hopes for it. Regarding the placement of the lifting handles, they go across from left to right, which means that if my dog is standing sideways in front of me (like in the picture shown in the listing), I’d have to twist my wrists to the side to be able to lift her. On our other one, the handles go down the spine at the shoulders, and it makes it so much easier to be able to get a good grip on her. The material is kind of thin & uncomfortable. I’m just not as impressed with this one. However, if we’re able to figure out a way to get it to stay on her & not be uncomfortable or painful in the process, I will definitely come back & update this review. It’s hard to find 2-handled harnesses–and it’s apparently more difficult to find a 2-handled harness that works appropriately. I hope this company will work on their design a bit because it has potential, but it’s not quite there yet.
