Works well for helping to lift up the rear end
I ordered this dog lift harness for our 12 year old newf that is needing some assistance getting up during the colder winter months. I tested this on our younger dog, a 160 lb newf. Fit wise, the Large is sufficient for helping to lift up the rear end of a dog.Where this aid lost a star is in the straps. The straps feel cheap and thinner than I’d prefer. Granted, these straps do have a reflective thread, which is nice.There is a padded strap handle that is loose and you attach it via velcro. The handle feels super cheap, and it needs to be longer as I can guarantee that no one that has a large dog that needs help up will only be using 1 hand to do so. It’ll be a 2 hand job.In addition, the fact that the handle is not a sliding unit that is attached to the sling, means that I’ll likely lose it in my dog closet and it’ll never get used.

Probably good for back leg assistance; didnât work as a full body lift
I read the product description carefully â what caught my eye was this sentence: â can be used as a full body dog carrierâ.I ordered a S; my dog is a little under 17 lbs. He doesnât really need back leg support, even though he has trouble with the stairs & trouble (sometimes) jumping onto our high bed. I was hoping I could use this to lift him up so he does not hurt himself.Unfortunately every time I just gently put it under his belly he would walk right out of it. I quickly saw it could create more problems than it solves.If your dog has back leg issues, this might really help. It doesnât work as a full body lift unless your dog is very calm.

Perfect for helping my 75 lb dog.
Super product and works perfect with my 75lb older baby. We rescued her many years ago and the nearest breed she looks to be is a plott hound. She is about 15 and having some hind leg issues at times.This product is designed only for rear leg issues as clearly stated in the Amazon page. The lambswool sling is soft and covers a large amount of her belly. The handles are perfect and it is simple to get this around her when needed.I’ve gone through this before with a 100+lb german shepherd dog with DM and ended up using a towel as a quick aid to help him get around. This would have been so much nicer, both for him and me.Great product at a reasonable price.

Incorrect Sizing
This portable dog lift was not the right size for our dog. The one we got was way too narrow, and the straps are super long. There is no balance when I put the device around my dog the harness itself slips to his high legs, and only his hind legs are lifted up, we were hoping this would work because our dog has seizures and sometimes itâs difficult to move him. Overall, I donât feel that this is the best way to dog. Theyâre not very secure and they can easily tip forward or backward and fall out.

It came just when I needed it most
Just received this today and itâs going to be a lifesaver. My little 11 pound dachshund was just diagnosed with IVDD. He is in this stage of recovery where he needs to learn to use his back legs properly and this was perfect.Please, when you are ordering, read the description carefully. This is mainly for the hind legs of dogs who are older and may have hip dysplasia and have problems using their hind legs. It is not a full body sling unless you may have a 5 pound Chihuahua. The small I ordered is 4+ inches and that is exactly what I needed. Small would not fit a great Dane as a full body lift.This sling is well-made, has adjustable straps to fit people of various heights. It is lined with lamb wool for comfort and is very well-made. The sling will not only help him, but it will be a back saver for me.

Works Well
This Portable Dog Lift Harness is well-made. It is very sturdy, as it should be to help lift a dog. Our mastiff occasionally needs help in the vehicle and so this harness stays in our trunk for that purpose. It fits his body well and he is 120 pounds.
