One of my senior cats (18 yrs) tested on the border line of having stage 1 kidney disease. He does not have it yet–but almost. He is also extremely fat, diabetic, and arthritic despite our extremely diligent efforts to encourage movement and dietary control. Kidney health wasn’t even on our radar until we lost our 23 year old female in May to kidney failure. It came on fast in combination with cancer. We take animal care seriously and she got excellent care but it was her time. When we lost her we were so upset we had all our pets in for blood work to see where their kidney health was as well as looking for various other conditions and now we will test them once to twice a year to track health in addition to the usual vet visits they get in plethora. When I heard we had a cat near stage one in his blood levels, I immediately started looking for preventative solutions in addition to putting him on a renal diet. I stumbled on Kidney Support Gold and the many positive reviews. I then printed out the ingredient list and took it to my vet to look at to be sure it was safe for diabetes and arthritis and she said it was fine to give a try. So I did. I started carefully. I only gave my cat a few drops once a day along with his zobaline and cosequin (daily supplements I give him anyway). And then I waited and watched closely for any reaction. He responded normally and even his blood sugar was good. As days passed I gradually stepped up the dosage until I had enough for his full weight. I am pleased to report that he has drastically improved in his personality, mobility, his coat is even more smooth and shines way more. His eyes are bright. His blood sugar is STABLE despite being on the renal diet that isn’t so great for diabetic cats (he still gets insulin every day mind you) and his urine output is that of a normal cat now when it was a bit on the hefty side but not dangerously so. I am looking forward to following up on his blood work to see if his kidney function has good numbers or hopefully stayed the same at the very least. I have been giving him zobaline and cosequin for over a year but the real improvement to his mobility and being more alert and more himself came when I added in the renal diet and the kidney support gold. I am so relieved there was an option for us that gives us hope and that our boy has responded so well with despite being elderly and diabetic.***UPDATE: Here we are in November of 2018 and my cat on this product felt lighter and wasn’t eating as much. I panicked because I was sure we had reached the tipping point on him entering kidney disease because weight loss and loss of appetite are symptoms. Our vet agreed it was concerning because he had lost weight so she ran the blood work on him again. It was a hard 24 hours of waiting for results but my concern was not necessary. His kidney function numbers had reversed. He is now solidly within middle range and no longer at the very cut off for starting kidney disease. She also ran an A1C test on him because having a cat on the kidney diet food is not really great for diabetics but his A1C was that of a young healthy cat without diabetes. His body is regulating itself thanks to this tincture, the K/D diet (and royal canin’s as well–I switch around to keep him interested), cosequin, zobaline, and I just recently (but after the blood work was done) added in Nordic Naturals fish oil which has increased his mobility even more. He is getting stronger and is full of spirit and trickery. I am deeply pleased and thankful. Giving him a more comfortable senior time is what I want for him. I held off doing a review for a few months to see what the overall effect was. I’ve just received the new lab results so I wanted to share.My 11 year-old cat Clawd was diagnosed with kidney disease in mid-September. I found this product in mid-October but couldn’t start giving it to him until I had trained both my cats on using microchip feeders so I could feed them separate food (as my other cat, Bonnie, doesn’t have kidney issues and the manufacturer did not recommend she take it if she didn’t have the issues).So he started taking the supplement regularly in early November and within just a few days he immediately perked up. He had more energy and his appetite increased noticeably. Over the past 2.5 months his coat has improved and is shiny and healthy, his dry feet and nose have softened and moistened and he has gained a pound which is good as he was getting very thin. He’s got a ton of energy now and regularly engages in the zoomies and lots of play again. He still has giant pees but they’re not as frequent as he was going before starting the supplement.In mid-September his Creatinine level was 252 – considered late Stage 2/early stage 3 kidney disease. Now in January (after 2.5 mos of supplement) his Creatinine is 198 – which is mild kidney disease range. His SDMA in September was 21. Normal is considered 0-14. traitement insuffisance rénale chronique de mon chat, en complément du traitement allopathique du vétérinaire ,de plasma de quinton, de luminothérapie. il a 17 ans et se porte très bien malgré sa pathologie (car en plus de l’insuffisance rénale, hypertension et hyperthyroidie, plus un peu d’anémie). il a eu aussi beaucoup de remèdes Beljanski et du viscum en sous cutané.ainsi que des perfusions sous cutanées aussi de plasma de quinton isotonique que je lui fais s’il se déshydrate du fait de son insuffisance rénale mais surtout cet été avec la canicule. le pet wellbeing a contribué à son amélioration. je vais lui refaire une urée créatinine pour vérifier de son efficacité.

PRoduct arrived well, I used it for a about 3 weeks slightly different to instructions, giving total dose in one feed. Queried my understanding of the instructions with Customer Service Team. Jen went over and above with her quick response, compassion, and thorough explaining of the way the product works. As a result I amended the way I fed my 17 year old cat (borderline kidney issues) to two daily doses, and I think he is doing better. Certainly has a better appetite and seems to have put on weight, though I haven’t weighed him. Will be interesting to see how he is at next vet check up. Glad I found this.
