Ortocanis Knee Brace Effects
Pain Relief
The brace has both an elastic and stabilising effect.
It reduces pain caused by cruciate ligament injuries, osteoarthiris and kneecap problems by increasing the joint’s temperature helping to reduce the inflammation.
Muscle Atrophy Prevention
It stimulates the muscular activity of the knee joint.
The reduction of the inflammation helps the dog to be more willing of carrying on activites such as walks and runs, stimulating the muscles and avoiding weakness and atrophy in the hind leg.
Faster Recovery
It increases performance and the recovery time improves.
It increases blood circulation, which improves Oxygene delivery, so the recovery time is also improved.
Additional Information:
The Ortocanis Knee Brace is to be used with the Fastening Belt Pack (sold separately).
Some dogs are shaped in such a way that the Ortocanis knee brace may slip off the back.
The belt prevents the knee brace’s upper strap from falling off.
Instructions for Use
Undo the velcro straps on the brace completely before inserting the dog’s leg.
Introduce the brace very carefully, making sure not to damage the knee. Once positioned, raise the brace fitting it tightly to the thigh.
Wrap the straps around the waist and adjust the velcro to secure the brace. Adjust the lower strap to ensure maximum comfort.
Gradually introduce the brace and check it periodically for chafing. Remove the support when resting.

Helping Zeus
This brace has been a life saver for our 135lb puppy. It wasnât easy finding a brace large enough for his frame, but this fits perfectly. He does so much better when he wears it. It is buying him time until his scheduled knee surgery. Highly recommend

Poor value, poor fit
Did not work for our dog. Thin, flimsy, and kept rolling down/coming loose.

Additional Support Kit for OrtoCanis Brace!
Editing my review for educational enrichment: Purchased XXL-Rear leg Brace for Newfie’s pulled ligament. Seeing ortho in August. Brace is made well but revising quality. The Neoprene is just that neoprene. Only two attachments, top and bottom. Size is too big but indicated XXL for Bernese Mountain Dog. Newf about the same size. Easy to put on. She’s a good girl with a STAND/STAY. Doesn’t matter how snug. As others have shared, it falls off! We found the Orto Canis Harness Support Kit for $39.99. Sorry, not worth it. Professionally, our opinion is that OC should revise and/or give the extra harness with the steep $49.99 cost.

Pyrenees Torn ACL (left leg)
My dog Reinhardt (Great Pyrenees) tore his ACL recently. I decided to get this brace until we make a decisuon on getting surgery or not. The brace itself seems to be comfortable on him, however the strap that goes around his back IS NOT ADJUSTABLE. It is a fixed length and it was way too big. We had to tie it up so it fits a little more snug. This is the XXL size (used the sizing chart) and it is a little big on him despite following the guide. I would recommend ordering down a size depending on the measurement taken. It is better for it to be more snug, than for it to be too lose. I hope that this will help our dog and will post any updates after continuing the use of this brace.

Strap that goes around the abdomen is way too thin
For over $50 you should get a lot more. The strap that goes around the abdomen is entirely too thin. When the dog walks the strap rubs on the abdomen and/or a male dog directly behind the penis causing pain. Note to the maker; the straps should be a whole lot thicker with soft padded material. It could be designed like a triangle that attaches up and Velcroâs more to the side of the rib cage attaching upward and away from the abdomen, not to cause pressure in sensitive areas. I had to return mine because my dog was more uncomfortable with the apparatus on then off. My purchase was an XX large. My dog hated it. I returned it the same day it was delivered. As far as the leg brace part of it I felt it was quality material. The major problem is how it attaches to the body and it is a design flaw. Not only would a triangular Piece of material attaching upward give the dog more comfort and keep it away from sensitive areas it would also create more stability in the leg.
