Fantastic knee brace for both before and after CCL surgery-good for ice packs too.
My Springer Spaniel-English setter mix tore her CCL on her right hind leg and is going for surgery in two weeks. The meniscus may also be involved as there is “clicking” when moving the leg. I wanted something to give her more stability until her surgery date so I ordered this brace. Once on the dog walks much better and is able to stand on her pad of that food instead of on her toes. She does not mind the brace being on at all and I think she almost welcomes it when we put it on. I went by the sizing chart and the fit is perfect. She is 60 lbs. and I got the large. I do find the back strap does slide because of her shape at times, but we simply readjust it and it stays for a while longer. This brace is well made, easy on and off and a God send for my poor pup.

    Total failure. No real help.
Total failure Large is too small, extra large is too big. Tried both original and with metal braces. Nothing fit. Returned 5 braces to show we tried everything. You MUST have a body halter to connect the brace to as it slides away in a minute. Sitting or lying down pulls the brace off the knee and does not snap back upon arising. This company makes very big braces but does NOT offer halters bigger than Large, an inch too tight for our girl. While wearing, the strap on the inside crosses the abdomen and up the opposite side so it can cross the back to velcro to the outside strap. The straps are too thin and easily curl up making a very thin strap cutting hard across your pups tummy. If you don’t pull it TIGHT, there’s no support whatever. I know it causes suffering. There are a bunch of very similar designs which all attach in a similar way. None will work without the halter attachment and even with it, the extreme tightness is just horrible. I’ve seen no reviews that mention this but it’s a major concern. My advice is to go right for a custom brace if there is any serious injury at all. If you need a minimum amount of support and can access a halter and connector strap and you’re willing to put the brace on any time the pup needs to walk, go for it. We wasted an enormous amount of time with this approach.. reading reviews in articles, etc., obviously written by ppl that never tried any of these. When choosing, keep your dog’s comfort in mind as they are already in pain and struggling.

Quality is ok, fit not so much
The quality of the brace seems fine, think it would last for awhile. Unfortunately the fit, at least for a Boston Terrier isn’t right. We measured several times before ordering. It is also very difficult to slip the brace over the foot and up into position. The strap sits against where the leg and torso meet and I think with wearing it for more than a few hours it would rub him raw and it doesn’t want to stay up. Good luck with all of you trying to keep your fur babies comfortable 💙

    Awesome concept
Such a great idea. Just wish it was a better concept to keep it on. It keep sliding off my German Shepherd’s back. Definitely love the slip on idea. This was the only brace that actually stayed on the knee, till ur slid off his back.

Updated review – Dog running and happy again
I kinda want to give this a 3.5 stars as I’m unsure on how effective it is in stabilizing my pups knees. I decided on 4 stars because I may have just bought a size too big. Regardless, the design needs improvement especially if you have a male dog. My pup did get chaffing on his shaft after a couple of days. I tried putting bubble wrap on that area but it still didn’t help, so I ended up really McGyvering it.Material and overall design is good. It did not slide off in my dog’s case. I like the neoprene as it’s soft and does give support but the key is that it needs to be taut. His braces were baggy around his knees so i cinched it up with some sewing thread. You can probably see the cinching in the foto.To help with chaffing. I cut the velcro tabs off altogether and re-rigged it. Instead of going under and over, I just kept it on the top side. And since he needed braces on both legs, I secured them both together from the top. Then I tied that part to his harness.I like to believe that these modifications is better protecting his luxating patellas as well as providing more comfort as we wait for surgery. He is an extremely hyperactive dog and doesn’t seem too bothered with it on. Hope this review was helpful.Update:So I did buy a size too big, but after sewing it tighter AND cutting it shorter, it finally helped my pup’s grade 3 luxation and helped it so significantly. He was in so much pain with the constant dislocation of his knee and injured liagment, but within several hours of wearing it, it really gave his confidence and smile back. He now wants to do zoomies (which I’m mortified about). It is quite incredible considering he was just yelping and barely moving the night before. The key is fit!! If it’s tight enough and stays secure, it will work wonders by keeping the knees stabilized. Best of luck!

    Not worth the money
Falls off constantly and really does nothing to support the joint.

I’ve been using the brace for 2 weeks on my 11.5 year old YorkiePoo and I think it is working. She doesn’t mind having it on and I think it’s because it decreases her discomfort. I had hoped it would slow her down but it doesn’t. It does stop her from climbing the stairs and jumping which is good. I’ve had no problem keeping it from sliding down. I have noticed that it is much more secure though when she has a little shirt/dress on.I’m hoping she will continue to heal because I really want to avoid surgery at her age.I feel I should have had her groomed before taking these pics. 😊I’m very happy with this product. In fact I’ve ordered a left knee one as well in case she blows out that knee next.

Top Produkt. Absolute Empfehlung !
