    Noticeable difference with coat
I have been using Welactin for a few months now, and definitely noticed an improvement with my dogs’ coat(3 year old and 15 year old), much shinier and softer. Compared to similar products I would say the price is reasonable as well.

    Great For My Dog
We have purchased the liquid and gel cap fish oil and find them both to be great products. This was recommended to us and used in the breeding mama dogs for a service dog organization- and for good reason! Implementing this product into my dog’s everyday diet has dramatically increased the shine and health of her coat and skin. We get compliments on her coat all the time, and I always swear it’s because she consumes this product. She also had a hip injury a year or two ago, so we’re hoping it’s helping her with that as well! I would recommend this product to every dog owner (with approval from their veterinarian, of course)

Helpful medicine BUT my dog does not like these in Gel form
I feel that these have been working to relieve my dog’s joint pain in hips. She will NOT however, eat these in the gel form even if I mix them in with her food. I find them on the floor because she spit them out. To have her take these, I have to poke a hole into them with a toothpick and then squeeze the medicine into her food. So, I doubt she is getting the full dose she needs based on her weight. She does like the taste when I do this so it’s just something with the gel outer casing she doesn’t like. When needed again, I will order the chewable tablets instead.

Capsules all stuck together in one giant blob
Updated 11/2/24 – Nutramax never replied to my email, but I called them and explained the problem. They asked me to send my order info and some photos of the bottle (upside down), and they sent me a replacement bottle right away. This is a great product, and it helps my dog a lot. Amazon just apparently has a problem with storing it, since multiple people have had this issue. I’ll be ordering from Chewy instead, but I recommend the product and appreciate their customer service.9/25 – I’ve had good results with this product in the past, but just received a new bottle, and all of the capsules are stuck together in one giant blob. I can’t get a single pill out of the bottle. Amazon says this item can’t be returned or exchanged, so I tried emailing Nutramax directly to ask about a replacement. But they didn’t bother responding. Disappointed at the company, the waste of money, and the loss of a good product for my dog’s health (because I’m obviously not buying more). Bad experience all around.

    Works
Our vet recommended this for our wire haired mixed breed dog. He was always itching but his skin looked good- she said it was likely that his own fur was making him itchy because of how coarse and prickly it was. Within 2 weeks of giving this to him just once a day his fur was noticeably softer and by the end of the month his itching has stopped. Highest recommendation from us.

    Recommended by Vet
My little dog is 20 pounds and just about to turn 13 years old. She already takes Cosequin for joint health and her vet recommended this product as well. It is very easy to use, she takes it with her food. It is a soft gel, slightly sticky, she tolerates the taste and it seems to be a decent value for the money.

    Less stinky
I’ll never go back to the squeeze bottle that left a greasy, fish smell in the container and bowl. Love these so much better!

    Great product but unusable
These caps are so much easier to use than the bottle of liquid Welactin except the capsules have all been stuck together in the last couple shipments. Despite lots of effort, they couldn’t be separated and therefore are not usable. We will try to find them locally to see if the problem is heat during shipping. Our dogs take them easily and don’t mind them.

My two dogs love their softgels and even my kids ask for them cause they think they taste yummy! My vet recommended them for my senior dog with join1t pain, and I saw an immediate improvement in his coat and behaviour so I started giving to my puppy as well. Great product, happy doggies

My dog takes them easily in his food. His skin seems to be improving. Does not smell like fish oil.
