The Glacier Tek sports vest is designed to keep you cool during and after strenuous physical activity. The vest features dual side elastic straps and over-the-shoulder adjustability for a secure fit on a wide range of body sizes. Each vest includes a set of eight cooling packs that maintain a cool — but not cold — temperature of 59° F for up to 2.5 hours in 100° F heat. The packs are powered by PureTemp, a nontoxic phase change material known for its consistent, repeatable performance over thousands of melting-solidification cycles.
SIZING: The sports vest comes in one size designed to fit most adults. It weighs just under 5 pounds, including cooling packs, and will fit chest sizes between 29 inches and 52 inches. Really works!
Live in Tucson Arizona (106 today). This vest really works! Lasts (cools) about 1/2 hr. in extreme heat. Then, just change out the cool packs (recommend you purchase a 2nd set of cool packs). Great product!

Good for what itâs designed to do
I have a medical condition and needed something to help me stay cool in certain situations. I did not want a vest that was going to use evaporation or get me all wet, so this was my pick. I wear a size M/L shirt in womenâs and thereâs a lot of room left on the straps. Doesnât make the cooling space bigger but will ultimately fit someone larger. I would recommend having two ice pack sets and understanding that this is ultimately only going to last a couple hours in high heat with a lot of activity. The goal is keeping the core cool, which is different than keeping you cold all over. Expectations are everything with this product. I use it using beehive inspections and it fits nicely under my suit and does a good job. On a 90 degree day, itâs going to start melting quickly, but at least Iâm not getting wet in the process. Itâs tough to pay the current price, but I wanted to provide an honest assessment other than the one sentence ones provided so far.

lifesaver.
this thing is pricey and it’s heavy to wear, but I have a lot of trouble with thermoregulation and I am sensitive to heat. I wore this on a summer day NEXT TO A ROARING FIRE and this thing kept me from passing out.I am that counselor in camp who knows how to work the dutch ovens, so it’s really nice to just be hot instead of passed out with heat exhaustion.it won’t make you comfortable in high heat, and it is less effective if you’re working hard, but it sure makes a difference in your heat toleration.

Works but one size does not fit all
Spent quite a bit of money on this item for my son, buying the vest and ice packs and additional ice packs. I looked into a bunch of them and they are all announced as one size fits all but that just isn’t the case. After receiving the item and freezing the packs my son put it on and it was immediately evident that it wasn’t going to fit. I was able to find Velcro extend straps to make it fit (another $60) but it would have been nice if we would have known that going into the transaction. It does cool him down where it does reach, and having the extended straps will allow the vest to be secured to him but its still rather short and there really isn’t an option for “big and tall” still. Hes admittedly a big guy and were used to this problem (6’5″ 330 lbs.) but that’s a market that’s going to eat these things up if they could make a larger size one. His employer, the largest company in the world for retail, is anxious to see this product for its warehouse employees, too bad its going to look like a plastic bib at a steak and lobster restaurant instead a piece of working equipment

Life Saver in the heat!
Bought it for husband who is a welder, so in the summertime itâs brutal. It was worn under a leather welding jacket and was comfortable to use, practically unnoticeable for him throughout the day. The extra ice packs come in handy especially on extreme heat days. Had to replace every 3 hours on 100+ temperature days but the packs last much longer on decent days. Overall a great buy!

Potentially life saving
The only two reasons I gave this 4 stars is because itâs so expensive, and the cooling packs donât stay cool for long. I love that they donât leak or sweat and make your clothes wet.I bought this for my daughter who is sensitive to temperature (us gingers struggle to regulate our body temp). She used this during practice during color guard and while working at her job in a food truck during the summer. I wish it was a bit more effective, but I admit that even with the price it is worth it to not have her pass out or throw up from heat exhaustion.We also had to use multiple safety pins to get a snug and comfortable fit to hold the cooling packs close enough to her body to be effective. It took a lot of adjusting, but again, still worth it to avoid medical intervention. The material is durable and the zipper is high quality. I hope to see improvements on this great idea in the future.

This works as described. Much better than evaporator type vests. Plus you can pack some extras and end up traveling all day.
