Very helpful. Wish there were more sizes.
I really wish there was a size between the small and medium. My dog is 31 lbs, but long, so her measurements lined up with the small on the size chart. After reading the reviews I sized up. I had to cinch the straps way down, and it still gaps in the front. I tried the small as well, and while I could get it on her, it was hard to get over her head and the straps were pressing against her armpits. She was clearly not comfortable and I was worried about chafing and matting, so we stuck with the medium one.It’s little on the pricy side, but I think it was worth it. It seems well made and smartly designed. I like the zippered opening to attach a leash to a harness. Underrated feature: the word “cooling” in large print on the vest. So far nearly all the people who have asked me why my dog is wearing a jacket in a heat wave have been too young to know how to read.My dog seems to like it, or at least doesn’t mind it. Since it has to go over the head, it requires her cooperation, and she doesn’t fight putting it on. Depending on the humidity, it dries fairly fast, but if I pour more water on her before it dries completely, it disperses through the whole thing pretty well, so I don’t have to take it off and re-soak it. It’s also held up well. I try to keep her out of brush with it on, but there’s no stopping her from rolling in the grass. So far no tears or snags, and the dirt has just rinsed right out.Even in our humid weather, it does seem to make a difference on hot days. We can walk further, and her tongue doesn’t end up hanging quite so far out. I’ve recommended it to several people who asked about it on walks, and after seeing it in action, my cousin bought the small off me for her dog so I didn’t have to mess with a return.

Great job cooling in 111° kept his black hair cool 2the touch for 2hrs b4 needing 2wet again. We had 2go 2Dr & went 4ice cream later. Was worried it being so hot out but worked great! I wet down, wrung out then put in bag in fridge 1hr b4 putting on him. Worked better for longer in extreme weather. I also bring ice water 2re wet it when needed. Great fit, lightweight & his service vest fits over it & still worked great. He loves too. The straps however will drip a lot even after wringing out so will get car seat etc wet. Not great if in public doing a downstairs & leaving wet spot so bring small towel just in case

Works to cool my heat intolerant black dog.
I bought this for walking my heat intolerant black dog. He got far too hot too quickly on walks when itâs 85f+ and high humidity.He loves walks but he is jet black, 1.5 years old and he taps out almost immediately without this vest.WITH this vest he was ready to rock and roll for a 35 minutes walk on a 91f and high humidity sunny day!The evaporative principle is basic but effective.In my case, despite ringing the water out after soaking the vest in cool water, as soon as I put the vest on my dog, water started dripping off of the vest.Itâs a very soft and light vest that I thought heâd hate but he doesnât seem to mind at all!There is a small zipper I guess you open to initiate the evaporation and vent ion process.Next time Iâm going to chill a pitcher of water in the fridge and pour that on the vest while on my dog and see if that is even more effective at cooling him.All in all Iâm pleased and Micah seems to be pleased.

Absolutely works exactly as described
I have a senior hound who is used to her 68-degree house and does not like heat. We took her out in 91 degrees today with this one and she didn’t pant even once. I’m incredibly surprised how well this works. We made sure to keep it damp with cool water the whole time and not let it dry out. She was one happy pooch being able to have some sunshine without overheating. Thank you for this product! She is very deep-chested and 62 pounds, and needed a large size. We did buy a medium but had to send it back because it was too tight around her shoulders.

Nicely cools and deflects sun.
I like the materials used, stays cool much longer than the cheap thin wannabe cooling vests. In Hawaii, it lasted a good 30 mins. It’s never became hot to wear for my black lab. And I like the way it deflects the sun with the light color and the slight shimmer. It fit nicely under his working harness without obstruction. Would recommend. The clips and adjustments are easy and sufficient to keep the chest area touching the dog. To regenerate the cooling abilities, I simply poured cool water on it. The word “cooling” on the side answered questions before being asked. (That was nice to avoid one more distraction). I’m always asked questions about my service dog.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME IF YOU LIVE WHERE IT GETS VERY HOT
Okay, so we followed the instructions and put this on our dogs, I ordered two. It doesn’t stay wetfor more than 30 minutes and cold for almost no time. It is still Spring here in the high desert of Southern California and this product doesn’t help keep the dogs cool. Furthermore, if you forget to remove it, it will make them even hotter. Maybe if the water is very cold it would provide some relief but this is not how it comes out of the faucet and the need to constantly wet this jacket makes it a very inefficient way to try and cool your dog off. I was hoping for a good experience, didn’t happen.

This worked awesome on my multi day backpacking trip. I re-wetted her vest at every creek crossing and made sure the vest didnât get too dry. It made a huge difference in keeping her cool.

Der Artikel kam binnen 24 Stunden an. Die Kühlweste ist hochwertig verarbeitet und sitzt bei meinem Hund sehr gut. Handhabung ist simpel. Benutzen sie heute das erste Mal und meiner alte Shih Tzu Hündin tut die Weste sichtlich gut. Sie schläft gerade darin. Gerade hitzeempfindliche Hunde können hier sehr profitieren. Seit ca. 2 Stunden ist die Weste nun kühl. Mein Hund hechelt nicht und unter der Weste ist sie nicht warm. Ich könnte meine Abby sicher noch mehr abkühlen, wenn ich die Weste in den Kühlschrank lege vor Benutzung. Einen kleinen Spaziergang haben wir auch bereits gemacht bei Mitte 20 Grad. War kein Problem. Ich würde trotz allem keine Langstrecke damit an hitzigen Tagen machen, jedoch macht die Weste bei meinem Hund bisher einen echten Unterschied aus. Kann sie durch und durch empfehlen. Preis Leistung ist aus meiner Sicht angemessen.
