Strong, Durable, Waterproof & worth the price
We have now purchased five of these blankets in various sizes. We have an 8 month old German Shepherd Pup who loves to chew through EVERYTHING. He has destroyed all of the thick dog beds we’ve gotten for him, but he hasn’t eaten through these. He loves to lay on them wherever they are. They’re also really soft, warm and cozy, but incredibly durable. We put two different sized ones on my overstuffed beige chair and ottoman which is the first place he goes when he comes in from the wet and muddy outdoors, and they have done an amazing job protecting the furniture, so I don’t have to chase him around the house or get my hands nibbled off trying to dry his feet with a towel. They do start to smell like wet dog after a while, but we just throw them in the wash and they come out great. They’ve lost a little of the “soft” but they’re so soft to begin with, that it’s to be expected. Regardless, they are soooo much better and cheaper than ruining the furniture. We even bought one as a gift for my parents new puppy and they absolutely love it.

Perfect! Waterproof and heavenly soft!
This blanket has been a lifesaver! Itâs completely waterproof. I tested it by pouring a glass of water on the beige fuzzy side. The water pools on top, then sinks in, but does not permeate through the rubber and get through to the red side.It was just what we needed for our senior Great Dane while we got her on medication for incontinence due to a weak bladder sphincter. She would leak while she slept, sometimes very large puddles. The blanket was so useful to be able to let her up on the couch during the day while making sure any possible leaks would not reach the couch.Now that sheâs on medicine and no longer leaking at all, we still use this blanket on the couch because she loves it so much. I suspect the fuzzy side is reminiscent of a mama dog. We wrap her up in this when itâs cold and she falls asleep literally within seconds. The blanket is like a combo between a fuzzy blanket and a weighted blanket of comfort, due to the heavier rubber in the middle.Washing: this washed fine in an LG Tromm washer and dryer. I washed it on delicate with plenty of soap and extra rinse. To dry, I put it on the lowest temperature setting on very low tumble and ran it a few times until it was dry. The fuzz did not clump together as some have reported. I hope this is the case for future washes. The trick might be getting it as dry as possible with the right temperature without affecting the rubber, and reducing the number of times it tumbles to prevent matting. Even then, it may be possible to brush over the fluff when itâs done.Scent: there was a chemical scent until I washed it once. I recommend washing it first because dogs have such sensitive noses.

proved its worth 2 days after purchase
We have a 17-year old Maltese who doesn’t get around like he used to. He generally will bark once when he needs to go outside, but he had a senior moment the other day and must not have realized he was on our couch when he decided he needed to lift his leg. Argh. I bought this the same day based on other reviews that said it really was waterproof.That was good timing as it turns out; 2 days after it came in, he did the same thing again only this time he peed on this cover instead of the couch. I immediately checked and found out it is definitely waterproof so it’s worth the price of admission just for that as far as I’m concerned.I washed and dried it immediately. It didn’t shed in the dryer and looks just as nice now that it’s been washed as it did when it arrived. Plus it’s very comfortable for him to sleep on – which is his modus operandi most of the day…

These are good and most definitely waterproof even after multiple washes in hot water, the only thing I dont like is the plush on the back side gets to feeling rough so I dont want to use it as an actually blanket but its a good cover to protect furniture from dogs.

Saved my bed
I have 2 cats that think my air mattress is a trampoline. They have wicked sharp claws. Iâve already lost 2 air mattresses to these critters. I purchased the Kritter Planet Blanket to save me a bunch of money on a new air mattress. Itâs big enough to cover a full size bed from corner to corner. Itâs very soft and warm and thick enough so the cats canât puncture the air mattress underneath.

I use these upside down for the first week, but was even more excited when I figured out the correct side. They are easily washable and hold up through numerous washing so far. And they donât look too bad on the sofa.

Dog has accidents? This baby will keep your nice dog bed nice.
I havea great dog bed but it is a pain to change and wash. My older poodle was letting me do it weekly, but no more. Aside from the fluffy comfortable value, I really got this waterproof blanket to protect that bed and it has done that perfectly. Just rinse it off with the hose, pop it into the washer and you are ready to go. Bought the smaller size first. Mistake. You want an over-sized blanket to insure the bed stays protected. Can’t beat this product. Well-made too.

Washing is a nightmare
These blankets are nice quality, but theyâre so difficult to wash that I wouldnât recommend them. They hold so much water that they donât rinse/spin properly, come out soaking, and take ages to dry. And if you have a top loading washing machine: forget it, as they just unbalance it because to heavy with water. Unmanageable.

I have 3 of these! Bought a big one for the car and 2 for my puppy just to lay around on. The non fluffy side is the waterproof part and it has worked so well with my puppy when sheâs have accidents. The fluffy part is so soft! Washing it is easy. I throw it in the dryer plus hang dry for 24 hours.
