It’s winter now and we are having freezing temperatures combined with snow on the ground which has resulted in my dog not being able to stay outside for long. After a few minutes she starts lifting up her paws because they hurt her. So I ordered these dog boots to protect her feet so she can stay outside long enough to do what she needs to do. I had researched lots of different dog boots before ordering these. I like these because the bottom is solid but the top part is like a sock, so it’s very stretchy and it’s much easier to get them over her feet. My dog is sixty five pounds but I got the XXL size because her front paws are huge for her size. They fit her well and because there is a Velcro strap on the sock part, I can use that to keep the back boots on her even if they are a little large. Of course, it took a bit to get her to actually walk in them and not just stand there and shake her paws. But after a while she seemed to understand that putting these on let her stay outside longer and she is walking fine in them now. I love that I can just pull them off her when she comes inside and I don’t have to wipe each one of her paws because they aren’t caked with snow. I am very happy with these dog boots and since there are six pairs in the set, I have two extra boots in case she ever loses one in the deep snow and we don’t find it until spring.

Very comfortable for timid dogs, stays on!
My dog is very nervous and timid. She refuses to walk in traditional dog boots from a famous brand. She also hates getting snow stuck in her hind feet and will lie down in the snow as if she has the meanest dog parents in the world.Finally, I tried these socks…and she can walk in them! Rather than the sneaker like tread on most dog boots, these are coated socks. It’s more like the dog’s natural stance and stride. Though she was frozen in place when I first put them on, and lifted her legs awkwardly for a few minutes, she actually regained a normal gait and went out in the snow to do her business. These are not for everyday use in her case, rather for the wind chill below 15 days here up north. Occasionally I would use them for walks. My dog is 31 lbs, has feet pads that measure 1.5” on the back and 1.75 front. Reading other reviews made me err on the smaller size so they aren’t floppy which I was nervous about. In this case it worked out perfectly. The Velcro on her is in the right place above her dew claw. She is only 15” tall at the back so has medium length legs.The hard part is that it was a two person job to get them on. I spread the sock elastic wide open and my husband gently helped guide the paws in. I’m not sure if I can do this by myself.Basically for the price, I just can’t beat getting 6 socks. I was going to try to make some, but these are well designed and a very good value. Again, for actual hiking I’d need the sneaker type boots, but for little walks these are perfect for keeping the salt and snow out of her pads.

These are great. My dog doesn’t think so but these are very helpful in the condo that I live in that drops a ridiculous amount of salt on the road and sidewalks in inclement weather. The salt burns paws so I need protection and these have a nice durable foot base. I like the velcro on the sock part to be able to adjust it to my dogs size leg too.

Unfortunately, the “KOOLTAIL Dog Socks” did not fit my little girl’s paws. She is an 8 1/2 pound terrier mix. I did review the size chart, but found it rather confusing. The socks were way too long on the foot portion. The width was fine, and the part that goes up the leg was pretty narrow and tall, which appropriately helps to keep the sock from coming off. However, these were very difficult to get onto her feet, and frankly her little paws were just swimming in them. If we had selected a smaller size, the narrowness of the top portion would have made it quite difficult to pull the entire sock onto her foot. We are quite disappointed, as the socks do seem to be well-made, but just not proportionately “right”.
