K9 Ballistic Dog Bed
My dogs absolutely love this bed. They love it so much they fight to get a spot on it. Itâs chew proof and I have a Border Collie that chews. She hasnât chewed it up yet, itâs that durable. My older larger dog loves it because it helps his joints. This is my second purchase from K9, and I had the last bed 9 years before it wore out. Highly recommend.

Great for giant breeds and destructive dogs!
Pros: 1. Generous cushion for my older Great Dane. 2. So far immune to the younger Great Dane / Greyhound mixâs destructive tendencies. 3. Washable outer cover AND washable inner liner.Cons: 1. The outer cover is a little noisy when the dogs move around. 2. Getting the cover on the bed was a two-person job.Weâve had the beds a little over a week, and theyâve outlasted every other bed by at least 5 days. I donât think the mix is even tempted by the ballistic fabric. By this measure alone, these beds are a success. Even better, the dogs seem to find them very comfortable.I bought this bed with low expectations â my 7 year old Great Dane needs a bed with a really good cushion for her older bones, but my 2 year old Great Dane / Greyhound mix destroys anything made of fabric (pillows, blankets and dog beds being favorite targets). And of course, every time she destroys a bed, she destroys two â hers and the Daneâs. Since adopting her in June, Iâve probably gone through almost $1,000 worth of beds.A few observations:I bought the Extra Large and probably could have bought just the Large as the size is very generous â sometimes they buddy up on just one bed.Two giant dogs means a lot of dog stink, and itâs nice to see two covers that are washable â the outer âballistic coverâ and the inner liner.Despite the simple-sounding instructions, getting the outer cover on was a real wrestling match â not complicated, just really snug. Once the covers are on, the beds have a nice, fitted look to them. The inner cover comes on the foam mattress and also appears snug, so we have yet to see how that goes on. As long as the covers donât shrink, I think snug fit is OK.All in all, exactly as advertised! Love them.

Awesome Bed!
I pondered over purchasing this bed for quite some time due to the price. After my dog chewed up several cheaper beds, I decided to give it a try. Now, I wish I had purchased it sooner! As usual, my dog chewed, dug, and nested like crazy but the bed held up. In fact, it still looks brand new after 3 weeks which is astonishing because that never happens. My dog is on the older side with some joint stiffness and aches so having a quality orthopedic bed was also a priority. This bed simply has it all! The foam is not cheap at all, it’s comfortable, keeps its shape, and really helps with my dogs joint pain. My dog also has morning incontinence at times because of his age. Not a problem for this bed…super easy clean-up and it will come out of the washer like new.My dog is a MODERATE chewer. I think poor reviews for this product with dogs who are HEAVY chewers is an unfair representation of the product as they clearly state in the description “for heavy persistent chewers we recommend our virtually indestructible Cujo Cot…” If you’ve been pondering about purchasing this bed and your dog is a MODERATE chewer, digger, and nester, ponder no longer and buy! Worth every penny! Awesome Bonuses: does not retain odor, and hair just shakes right off!

Not rip proof
It didn’t take long for the dog to chew this fabric and tear out the cushion

Seems well made
I bought the big one so my 2. 55 lb. Doodles could sleep on it together. There is plenty of room for them to stretch out. It’s a bit of a wrestle to get the cover on, but it fits well. The insides are firm, not super cushy, but the dogs like it. Because there is no fringe or threads, the dogs haven’t chewed on it (yet). So far, I think it is good, but it certainly isn’t cheap. But to be fair, you get what you pay for.

Two destructive, determined chewers, and the bed remains.
I have a border collie, a Queensland, and a terrier mix, and two of the three are *HEAVY* chewers as well as diggers. The Queensland ate his way through an entire outdoor couch set, and the terrier mix has created escape routes by pulling apart horse fencing more than a few times. Since my border collie is an older dog, I wanted her to have a soft place to lie down, especially when itâs cold in the mornings, but having to clean up mounds of stuffing and buy new dog beds on a biweekly basis was infuriating. So I took a shot at these based on the reviews. I got the orthopedic one for the winter (an XL fits all three dogs when theyâre in the mood to snuggle) and the raised bed for the summer. Iâve now had them both for about a year and a half. The younger two dogs did manage to get through the corner of the ortho bed after about 4 or 5 months, but since the mattress pad is one solid piece, theyâve only made a few inches of headway since then. Even when they dig at it (which I can hear nearly every morning), it doesnât fall apart, so they kind of lose interest after taking out their frustration in knowing Iâm about to head off to work. These were well worth the money considering how much a cloth-covered fluffy bed from a pet store costs; and they make real short work of those. I will say, if you have to remove the pad from the cover to clean it, itâs a two person job with the XL. The coverâs designed to fit extremely snug to the pad, and the pad is not particularly flexible. I know itâs necessary for the design, but itâs not a cake walk to get the pad back in. Or in for the first time from the box.

dog couldn’t get at the velcroed zipper and didn’t destroy itroll it up to get it in the cover – it’s no easy feat but it does fit well once inside
