A good mat for seed germination
Simple – just plug it in – no temperature control to worry about. I tend to want to use what I have around the house for projects rather than buy special equipment. (Example: All year I save plastic drink cups from fast food runs instead of buying pots. Essentially, Iâm cheap.) Iâd been using a regular heating pad to start my seeds, but wondered if it was too warm. This is a simple and inexpensive plant heat pad – and it seems to be auto set at the correct warmth for germination. All but 5 of my 140 or so seeds germinated and now I have petunias and geraniums beginning to form buds. This was a good purchase.

I ordered two of the 10 x 20.75″. After a slightly longer than normal delivery, two 3 x 20.75″ showed up. Not that I wanted to complain, but even to go containers for onion seeds were sticking past the edges. Wasn’t trying to have tomato flats with feet sticking out from the blanket perse. I started the return process and replacements were sent. Seeing the same international origin, minus the hot pink bracelet (Canada). My concern was the same error. From clicking on the product description during tracking and it lead to the different 3″ product. I contacted Amazon customer service to validate the right product. The associate asked if a refund and keep both shipments was okay. Turns out the vendor did correct their error as my return/exchange description must have been enough. Quality wise, if you buy retile rolled heating, you still have to lay it flat, wire a cord, etc… I can probably figure something else to order so Amazon and IPower aren’t out too much over their error, lol.

I am currently using it to start seeds for the first time. The set up was very easy and I love the timer on it. It came rolled in the packaging and that worried me a bit from reviews of other heating mats I had looked at saying that they wouldn’t stay flat. These mats laid flat right after pulling it out of the packaging, so my seeds pots are flat on the table and not chance of tipping over. My only negative review is that I went to buy another set of these because I like my first one so much, but they are all sold out!
