My dog absolutely loves rawhide bones. He doesnât eat them, he just plays with them. We tried these yesterday and it did not go as planned. As soon as my dog started to play with the bone, he started to gag and try to cough something up. It quickly turned into him vomiting. After about 30 minutes, he began to calm down and drank some water. I did not think it was the bone at first since it was completely in tact. Later on, he got excited and started to play with the bone again. The exact same thing happened again. There may be some type of coating on the bone that he had a reaction to or it could have been where the bones were stored previously. It is extremely out of character for him to not play with a new bone so I take that very seriously. Since I cannot return them, they will be in the trash. Hopefully others have better luck with these.
