Works well
I bought this heater to help warm up my hermit crabâs 10 gallon tank by a couple of degrees. I placed it on the side and not the bottom of the tank for better temperature control. The temperature fluctuates a little, but never goes out of an acceptable range for our little guy. It works as expected. He seems happier, so I am happy with this heater.

Works great!
I love the heater! I upgraded my tank so I added another heater.. it was perfect!

Low heat and low adhesion
This product provides a gentle heat – enough to warm my hand if I press it against the plastic it is mounted on. I use it for my isopod bin, so it is perfect for my uses! I donât think I would recommend this for a hermit crab or reptile, I doubt it would do much to warm the enclosure. Adhesive fell off after a day and I had to tape it on.

Good heat, but received 2 watt heater.
I received a 2 watt heater but Iâve double checked my order and it was for a 4 watt heater. The size is the same (4×5 inch) and the heat seems to be sufficient for our small hermit crab container, but buyers be aware in case you really need 4 watts.

Great for betta fish!
My kids got one of those as-seen-on-tv self-leaning tanks for a betta fish for Christmas (My Fun Fish Cleaning Tank). Though we live in Southern California it’s hitting below 30 at night and the poor fish looked like he was going into stasis. I was afraid to get an in-tank heater after reading too many reviews about them cooking the fish. This tank is REALLY small, maybe 2 quarts at the most. I put this underneath it (I didn’t use the adhesive – kept the plastic on) and it keeps the water from dropping below 70. I have to say he’s a happy little fish! He swims around all day and eats like a champ. This heater is awesome and I’d highly recommend it for a small betta tank.

Do NOT buy. Terrible design flaw and doesn’t even heat a 5-gallon tank the least bit!
I like nothing about this product. It has a terrible design to where the same two edges do not stay stuck, and I had to tape them as soon as putting the product on the tank. This is a 5-gallon tank and all it does is warm op the one side of the glass. I would NOT recommend buying if you want your hermit crabs to live. When I left for work this morning the temperature of the tank was at 62 degrees and my hermit crab was up against the side of the tank that the pad is adhered to unable to be mobile in his entire habitat and stuck in one spot.

Barely heats
This product puts off SOME heat but it can barely be felt thru the glass at all. I can’t place it under the tank, because it’s not a flat mat (cord) and the heat would be that much weaker then; undetectable above the substrate. The crabbies bury themselves in constantly to maintain warmth, and this little guy (“Chandler”) cuddles all the way against the glass to feel it. Uhem, we are in south Texas so it’s not even cold here yet (November).

Small but works
Works well for a small tank. I wouldnât recommend using it for anything larger than a 5-10 gallon.
