Great for Arthritic Cats!
I had originally purchased this in October 2022 for my senior boy cat. A couple of weeks later, I helped him cross the rainbow bridge, and so, the bed sat unplugged and unused for a while.I recently noticed my senior girl struggling to jump/climb as much as she used to, so the bed came back out, got plugged back in. I have noticed a tremendous difference in how she carries herself now. The bed seems to work very well for her – she seems much more comfortable when she is moving. While she isn’t jumping up as much as she used to, she’s no longer moving slow when she’s jumping up or down from other furniture.My middle aged cat also loves this bed when its on as well. As far as I can tell, she is otherwise totally fine, and seems to just like the heat.

I also suggest using a thin material in addition to the provided liner. This will keep hair off the sides of the bed also to keep the unit cleaner.

Great for older cats
I purchased this bed for my 17 year old cat who was recently diagnosed with bladder cancer. Prior to her diagnosis, it was clear she was dealing with some pain because she couldn’t jump up or down from the bed, and she walked with a strange crick in her tail. Since buying this bed, which she and all the other cats love, her energy has improved, her mobility has improved, and she has started running around and playing. At first I wasn’t sure about this bed because it is actually rather hard, except for the bolstered sides. I was worried it would be uncomfortable, but apparently that isn’t the case.

My cats love these almost too much
These beds are great! Our cats are getting a bit older, I think theyâre in the 13-14 year age range and definitely prefer to be snuggly nowadays. We bought one of these in the hopes that itâd help them feel amazing and at first it was a flop, they ignored it. But now they canât get enough of it. There is ALWAYS a cat in there and we only have 2 cats. They love it so much and canât seem to share so we had to buy a second one lol. But itâs worth it for some healthy cats! And they sleep HARD in these. Worth the $$!

Iâm returning to order another!
Shame on meâ¦I ordered one infrared bed and I have three cats! I thought the 10 year old would really appreciate it, that the others could stick with the heated pet beds that they know and love. That is not to be! TWO of my cats have occupied the new Thermotex infrared pet bed since I plugged it in and there is no room for the third. These cats can really tell the difference in the heat source. So, I return to order one more bed and before the end of the month I suspect I will cave and order a third. I am currently treating my lower back to the Thermotex Platinum heating pad and I love it too! I guess we have become a Thermotex infrared familyâ¦I highly recommend BOTH products, for woman and for cat!

My Dog Doesn’t Like It
I have a 13lb dog who is getting older and has joint pain, so I thought this would be good for her. The bed itself is very hard. Even the sides. The dog wouldn’t bother sitting down in it until the heat was on high.It comes with a heat controller with setting options of “off,” “low,” or “high” but the directions say to never use the high settings?! Well I couldn’t tell it was on when using low and even high is not that great. The bottom of the bed (when you pick it up) gets warmer than the inside. Plus the heated section is only in the middle. There are several inches in the ends that aren’t heated.

Great product but to small for my 6 lbs older cat
Purchase was for my 20 year old tiny 6 lbs cat. I know the product works as I have the platinum heating pad myself. The Pet bed was too small for my cat – she refused to use it. She lays on my heating pad and seems fine with that, (I returned the pet bed and purchased another Thermotex heating pad to keep for myself since she now uses mine).
