Not for dogs
I see a lot of positive reviews for cats. I got it for our elderly dog who has arthritis. I would not recommend it for any animal that may sit on it & it bunches up. It burned in the middle.

Large, nice cover, doesn’t get too warm
We’re using this mat for pets that spend some of their time outdoors, on a covered porch. So far there’s a lot to love – it’s soft, the cover is washable, the cord is covered, and it has several heat settings and a timer. A few thoughts:It gets warm but not that warm. We have it set to the top setting; it really doesn’t get that warm. It would probably work better inside an enclosure. It would have been nice to have the settings get a little warmer, but maybe it’s a safety thing.The 12 hour timer is OK. There’s no way to use this with a smart home or timer; you need to physically turn it on and set the timer every time you want to use it (unless you leave it on all the time, which I wouldn’t do). Again, maybe a safety issue but for me I’d have preferred a system that could turn itself on every evening, or use a smart home setting to do so.It’s fairly large but the heat doesn’t go all the way to the edges; maybe 6 inches in. Not really an issue, just mentioning it.All considered this is a big upgrade from the cold mat they were using before. All of the animals quickly figured it out, even though it’s a few feet away from where they normally sit by the door, prior to having the mat.

This heated pet bed is very very nice. The fabric cover is super soft and easily removed for washing. I appreciate the covered cord because we have a cat who loves to chew cords, but also loves to lounge on this bed, so I feel safer with that on. The timer works and the different levels of heat can be felt. Itâs big enough for 3 large cats or 1 medium-ish sized dog.

This only lasted a few weeks of use before it nearly burned out home down. It was not covered up by another blanket or anything. Luckily my son smelled something weird and alerted me. I found this thing was smoldering.
