***Editing a year later: The bungees along the sides have snapped and IÊ»ve retied them several times now to the point that I canÊ»t retie them anymore. Some of the mesh is getting worn out due to my dog leaning into the barrier heavily every time we drive. He also can climb over it at times when he needs to get into the front seat for “guarding purposes,” I guess, and a few times heÊ»s gotten tangled in it and I have had to help him out — but he can untangle himself if he wants to. For the most part this has been a good product, and after a year is wearing out, so IÊ»ll be buying another one.***Wish I would have found this years ago! Having my dog in my face while IÊ»m driving, or blocking my view to the right, has been an issue for me for ten years. Passengers riding in the front seat have been annoyed with him right there “guarding me from them” as well. This is easy to install and it still allows him freedom to be close enough to me while IÊ»m driving that heÊ»s secure, and he can see what he wants to see, and knows he needs to be back there while IÊ»m driving.He does from time to time climb over it, like when we stop at the dog park and he sees other dogs and has to get out NOW, like what happened yesterday. I was initially worried that heÊ»d get tangled in it and not be able to get untangled if I stepped away from the car for a few minutes. That hasnÊ»t happened yet. The clips will come unhooked at the bottom if they need to give way, if he gets agitated for some reason, and theyÊ»re easy to re-hook.I havenÊ»t tried storing anything inside the two layers of mesh yet, but thatÊ»s a handy feature to have.Mostly heÊ»s learned that he has to wait for me to get him out of the back seat now. I really appreciate that this has kept him where he needs to be while weÊ»re driving, and I donÊ»t see any drawbacks to the product or the design. I should add that heÊ»s a 90-pound very affectionate, very protective, very active, very vivacious 10-year-old GoldenDoodle.

Works as intended
Used for barrier from third row (to which is almost always down) to second row bucket seats. I have always had the bench style second row, which acts as a natural barrier. Sort of a pain to install and can be an issue if folding down second row buckets to allow access to third row as will want to restrict seat folding as pretty tight stretch to hook up. But, as I stated I never use third row and needed a way to stop anything from sliding forward under hard braking, so works well for my application.Seems well made and has slot at top if want to use to store items within the mesh.

Fit in both my Subaru Outback and Nissan Frontier perfectly. However the mesh didnât keep my dog from stepping in the middle console through the mesh. I cut out cardboard to the shape and that worked well enough for me to buy another.
