The Douxo Micellar Ear Solution for Dogs is an excellent product for addressing ear issues, especially in Labradoodles prone to such concerns. With its gentle yet effective formula, it helps clean the ears, removing dirt, debris, and excess wax without causing irritation. The micellar technology ensures thorough cleansing while maintaining the delicate balance of the ear canal. Regular use of this solution can help prevent ear problems and promote overall ear health in Labradoodles. It’s a must-have for pet owners looking to keep their furry friends’ ears clean and healthy.

Excellent product – but only as effective as your technique
I searched out this product based on a recommendation from a well-respected boarding kennel in the area. My large dog has floppy ears and is prone to inner-ear infections. I used this product to try to get the issue at bay and then clean the ears weekly to maintain good ear health.I found this product to be very useful for it’s purpose. It is also mild and easy for my dog to take (he gets a bit jumpy with some cleaners). The key for me is to ensure that the product gets into the inner canal and that has the opportunity to clean out all the wax, debris, etc deep in the canal. I had tried to clean his ears unsuccessfully in the past, and found a couple of things worked well for me. The biggest one is to gently massage the ear canal beginning at the base of the ear and then work my way slowly down the canal. I probably spent about one minute massaging each ear. The other tip is to wash the canal out more than once (especially at first if it’s pretty bad). The cotton ball/pad/kleenex should be coming out fairly clean after a couple of rinses. If your dogs ears are sensitive to liquid going in the canal, I would suggest warming the cleaner up in your hands first to get it warmer than room temperature.I hope this helps. Great product and fast shipping.

Great for cleaning ears
I have a Maltese and even with plucking the hair inside his floppy ears, he gets waxy buildup. I dab it on a cotton ball to wipe away any ear wax on the outer ear. I don’t like to use cotton swabs in the ear canal because that tends to push the wax and debris further in so I have to gently restrain him to use it on the ear canal. It just needs to sit for a minute and the debris floats up to where I can remove it with another cotton ball. It may take a couple of times doing this in each ear to get it all out. I do this a couple of times a month and I also do malacetic drops after baths to keep his ears dry. He hasn’t had any ear problems following this routine.

Same as my Vet uses.
Works well for cleaning my cat’s ears. She doesn’t object like she has with some other ear cleaners. Less stress for her and me!

A larger volume for big dogs would be helpful
Our vet recommended this to irrigate our dog’s ear with. I can’t see any dog really enjoying the process but the product is easy to use. The bottle really is shaped well to get the solution in a dog’s ear quickly and easily. There aren’t any sharp edges on the plastic and we have ordered it several times. The solution itself is fairly odorless- maybe mild smell. But it’s not unpleasant. It seems to get the wax out and not irritate my dog’s ear. The only issue I have with it is that we go through it quickly with weekly cleanings as recommended per our vet. I wish it came in a larger volume- our dog is 90 lbs. I feel like we get 3-4 irrigations out of it if we are lucky, and that’s only irrigating one ear!!! That’s the only reason I would take off a star. It’s such a waste of plastic and hassle to have to order it over and over.

I have been using this product with my Yellow Labrador retriever for over a year. Previously I was purchasing it from my Veterinarian. I discovered it on Amazon for a slightly less price and certainly appreciate it is being delivered right to my door. The issue is sometimes the dispenser will not open. This makes it difficult to administer to my dog. I recently ordered 2 containers. The first container’s dispenser stopped working when there was about 10% of the product was left over. I opened the 2nd container and the dispenser would not open from the very first day. This has been a periodic issue with this product when I ordered it from my Vet.Love the product. The dispenser has issues.
