Works for large dogs too
At 8 years old, both of our dogs are now considered “senior” dogs according to our vet. One of them is a large breed (130) lbs and is having hip and joint issues so that he has trouble jumping into the car. Getting a 130 lb dog with hip problems into a 4×4 SUV can be challenging, especially for my wife. We have a 5′ ramp that we used with our last dog before she passed, but it’s too steep for our big guy to use. When I saw this set of foam stairs with a picture of a little French bulldog climbing them I certainly had my doubts. Would the foam steps be rigid enough to support a big dog? Would they be too steep? Would they be tall enough? When they arrived and felt that they were in fact fairly stiff and held their shape well I thought they might have a chance of being helpful.Our first test with them was a success! The steps held up great even under the weight of our big dog. We still help spot him on the way into the car, but no lifting is needed. He jumps right up them and into the car. The foam is rigid enough to not collapse under weight but soft enough to be grippy and dog friendly.The only down sides I see are that first, they are bulky. Since they don’t fold or collapse down they take up about 1/3 of the floor space in the back cargo space of our Chevy Tahoe. The other issue is they are not “all-weather”. While we have no problem using these steps outside when it’s dry out, any moisture on the ground can be a problem, as the cover material is fabric. Luckily they have made the cover removable for cleaning, so that’s a big plus. All in all I’m quite surprised by the resilience and usefulness of this product and have to give it 5 stars.

Allowing you’re pet to run up or down without the chance of them moving or tipping over sideways. They also come with a none slip mat base increasing friction and preventing movement under duress. This model also comes with a handle that helps when transporting them from one room to another. The stain resistant carpeting is easy to clean and offers good abrasion resistance. Keeping in mind if you’re cat has claws it won’t survive their wrath just like any furniture in you’re house.One cool aspect is the way these stairs are shipped. They come in a small rectangular box that is only 4 inches thick. Then once you’ve opened the package and let the air in. The stairs will magically take shape. To their full length and hight. I would strongly recommend you leave the product for 12 hours. This will allow degassing and help it reach it’s full size potential without any deformity.To note:The wrinkle you see on the picture are from it being opened for only 5 mixture. At the time of writing this review not visible wrinkles are on the stairs and they’ve also gotten slightly bigger overall.Final thoughts:These are a great gift for you’re furry companion that offer them the freedom they deserve. It allows them to fully explore their environment and find their favourite cozy spot on the couch or bed. This will boost their moral and offer them a more fulfilling life with you in you’re home.
