This Ramp Changed My Dogâs Life!!
I have a large German Shepherd with pretty bad osteoarthritis in his front legs and shoulders and jumping from my trucks down to the ground was far too painful for him. Iâm an older woman with arthritis myself and lifting a 100plus pound German Shepherd out of my truck to the ground isnât possible. As a result, his only âridesâ were the necessary ones to his monthly arthritis injections at the veterinary clinic where someone could help me lift him out. There was no more hopping in the truck for joyrides, or going to town with me and he was so upset every time I left without him. So was I. I ordered stairs but he wouldnât use them ~ for some reason he was afraid to use them. So I decided to try this ramp and once it arrived, his life changed for the better. As did mine, because I LOVE taking my dogs everywhere with me!This ramp is so easy (folds out then back up quickly with a convenient handle in the middle and its light enough for me to take in and out of my trucks), heâs not afraid to use it because itâs so sturdy and itâs covered with an indoor/outdoor/utility carpet that he canât slip on. It has these hook type stabilisers on both ends ~ they secure the ramp so it doesnât move and it works with both my Ford F-150 and Expedition (I was concerned that the height of my trucks would make the ramp too steep for him but that wasnât the case at all). One of my other dogs, a big GSD also, is developing some problems with one of his legs and Iâm so glad I have this ramp already. If I needed a second ramp, Iâd order this one again!

Very sturdy, but heavy
It is very sturdy, has a good non-slip surface, can support a dog much bigger than mine (55 lb), and it folds up nice and small. What I didn’t like was how give heavy it is – about 16.5 lb and that it folds into three sections, which makes it a bit cumbersome to unfold and put in place. If you don’t need something this sturdy, I suggest one of the plastic ramps that is lighter and only has two sections, which makes it easier to deal with and set up.

Great for small dogs
Ramp is sturdy wide and light. Was going to build one but this met the need with less work. Two old dogs were having trouble getting through the dog door and navigating the steps. This ramp works great and the dogs had no issues adapting to it. We have 10 lb and 20 lb dogs. Ramp would probably be fine with much larger dogs.

Changed our lives!
If you have a very large dog with aging joints, or an SUV too high to jump in, you need this ramp. Our 130# Tosa Inu is getting advanced in age and we needed a way to safely get him to the vet for his monthly injections. When my husband broke his arm, we needed a solution other than him lifting him up and down from our truck or SUV. Oberon has been transitioning to a ramp to get up and down (getting down is the hardest for a big old dog) from our bed, so we purchased the 71×20â ramp for our car rides. Even with trazodone on board, he needed no instruction or coaxing on what to do. My husband and I stood on either side of the ramp so he wouldnât slip off and up he trotted without hesitation. Coming down was just as easy. Do stand on the side to protect from falling off the edge. 20â is plenty wide for him, but 24 would make me less nervous. The ramp is very well constructed, has a nice padded but grippy carpeting, easy to open and close, connects easily to the back latch of my Lexus RX450 and stays secure with no wobble or give. Very minimal bounce when the Big Guy is on it. The length gives a nice gentle slope to the ground. It folds up compactly and has a handy carrying handle integrated into the body (wont break off after a month). We havenât tried it on our Ford F150, but this has been a life changer for our furry baby. No more stress about the monthly vet visits. For our next dog-o-doption we will definitely start training with this ramp from Day one. Highly recommend.

Works for our 8 month Aussie who was scared to get out of the rear seats of my truck
This ramp is built well, reasonably sturdy and folds nicely for storage. The attached strap with carabiner is very useful to keep the ramp from slipping. Our Aussie likes to ride in the back seats of my truck and take in all the sites and sounds from the side window. Previous to turning 8 months old, we could get her out by either picking her up or by coaxing her to jump down 2ft from the floor. But once she turned 8 months, we struggle to get her out. I had decided to just wait this out until she grew out of it. But now, after fitting this ramp to just inside the rear door and securing the carabiner with rope attached to the bottom of the front seat, she now gets in and out of my truck with little effort. Please note: I have to agree with another review that I read on this product. This device does have the ability to pinch your fingers pretty good if you are not careful when you fold and unfold it. I have experience this myself. You need to first set the ramp down on its side edges such that the carpeted sections are perpendicular to the ground. Now you can carefully unfold the sections from the top while keeping your fingers out of the way. I would not remove a star due to this feature. It is not sold as a toy and I believe most who buy this will quickly recognize the issue. I would prefer a design change as suggested by the review that states “this thing is crazy dangerous to unfold and refold”. I may even do this myself.

Not a bad product.
I like the compactness and portability, but it is a couple inches narrower than my other ramp that only folds in half. That makes a huge difference in getting my geriatric big dog up and down as he constantly steps off the side. I’m keeping the ramp as it is easier for me to deal with than the older one I have, but my husband is the one who deals with the older dog the most, and the older, bigger ramp is easier for both he and the dog to maneuver. Old dog has loss of back leg muscle, and tends to sway and stumble, so those two inches are a huge difference. May be in need of this ramp for my other dog, who is a bit smaller than old dog, when she gets old. That said, this ramp is lovely, holds weight well, and even held me up when I stood on the lower half with no movement or sag issues. But because I weigh more than the dogs, I didn’t tempt Fate for TOO long. The surface is nonskid material, and my dogs didn’t slip once when using it. Overall a very good product. Just wish it was a couple inches wider.
