Seems to work for our Long Hair Cat
UPDATE 3/22/23: To avoid confusion let me state that dogs donât sweat but through their paws and cats do sweat but glands are well under their fur. Seller would benefit by clarifying what type of FABRIC the mat is and WHY canât it be cooled in the refrigerator? I did it and nothing bad happened. I have included two new photos.#1 shows how the fabric can be snagged by a cats claw but easily snipped (so far no hole developing).#2 shows what the âbubblesâ are as I cut one open from the back side (appears to be polyester fiberfill) and not a âgelâ like most other cooling mats.Seller could benefit by removing statements about âabsorbing sweatâ and focus on the design as being âless heating producingâ as traditional pet mats that are thick and warm. Focus on comfortable bubble design as that is what my cat seems to like and that there is no âthick furryâ fabric. Lightweight and easy to throw down on the floor so pet has something comfortable to lay on (since floors are often cooler).â¦â¦â¦.Original Review: The small size is good for most cats. We have one longhair cat that gets too warm easily so she has already adapted herself to it. I think this can be used for more than just a cooling pad such as on the easy chair to keep the area clean. The little bumps squish down if pressed upon but recoil to their bump shape quickly. This pad might also work for cats with sore joints. Iâll give it a couple of months and update.

Did not cool
It never felt cool. It actually stayed warm and the cat started panting on it.

Iâm amazed how well this pad cools.
Breathable fabric with slight bumps. Iâm guessing air flow helps to cool.Today, when I was putting my dogâs deck pad outside, I also picked up the cooling mat. The pad brushed my face and I immediately could tell it was cooler than the temperature in the house. Using one of those inexpensive infrared temp guns, I measured about 2 to 3 degrees cooler than ambient.I wanted to get a better feel for how well this mat can cool. I put the pad and mat out on our deck and let them stay there for 1/2 hour. I have a much more precise FLIR attachment for my cellphone which reads the infrared heat given off by surfaces. It shows the temperature in degrees F and color codes ranges of heat in the image. For some reason my video has been disallowed, probably due to its false-color image, so Iâll describe it. It was recorded on my deck with the mat partially covering a memory foam pad (with leopard spots). Ambient temp was around 70 deg. The mat and pad were in full sun. The FLIR video shows the cooling mat in blue colors with a temperature in the 90âs while the pad it is on is in the mid-120s (reds). That is a huge difference. I really donât know how this pad does it. It has to be more than just air flow (very light winds at the time of the video). The mat I have is size âSâ. I probably should have purchased one size up for my pooch but I think this one still helps.

Thin and small
Mat is very thin, not padded at all but thicker than a single ply sheet. Could be placed on top of another pad but if your dog likes to scratch and dig the bedding before settling down this will get torn to shreds very quickly. It is also quite small. My 9lb Pomeranian can lay on it and only about 15% of her body hangs off.The claim that it is a cooling mat is a stretch. Imagine you lay down on a pillow that has been exposed to the air. Initially it feels cool⦠for a few seconds until you warm it up. Thatâs what weâve got here. Slightly quilted texture so maybe itâs allowing a bit of airflow but donât set your expectations too high.

Not sure if itâs really cool
It feels a little cool. I place it on top of the table in the patio. My cat stays on it at times but I donât know if itâs cool for her.

It’s a Yes from Foxy!
Our senior pup seems to get hot easily now since she has gotten older (a 14y.o Pomchi) She would usually move around to different spots on the bed that feels cooler but now this is her favorite spot.It definitely feels cooler than the regular bedding. She really likes it when I put it in the freezer for a little bit before she decides to take a nap or before bed.I’m glad it’s not filled with gel because we do have a cat who loves to scratch at the bedding unfortunately. If you’re unsure what size to get, size up. Luckily our pup is not too big so the small is an okay size and 80% of her body fits on it. I will be getting another mat for her.
