Fits well, not that effective for my dog
This vest or shirt is a great idea, however it isn’t going to work for all dogs. It does not have the same level of compression that a Thundershirt does, probably because it is so stretchy. It does seem to be comfortable to wear though.

Works almost too well! My dog definitely doesnât bark when he wears this vest⦠but he also doesnât move. He just stands in the hallway staring blankly like a tiny dog zombie. Itâs a bit unsettling, but heyâat least itâs quiet! Four stars for effective silence, minus one for turning my pup into a furry statue.

good fit – can’t speak to lessening anxiety
I got this for my 14 lb cockapoo puppy for the 4th of July. This was going to be his first fireworks and I’ve had dogs in the past for whom the noise was a painful experience.I got the size M, and it seemed to fit just fine. I cannot, however, speak to whether it helped with anxiety or not as my pup didn’t seem to have any. At first he barked at the noises (to undoubtedly protect us all), but when I took him out to see the fireworks in the sky, he was kind of fascinated by the whole event. It didn’t seem to matter if the vest was on or off.So my dog didn’t seem to need this, but I did read Temple Grandin’s book about the “squeeze box” and how adding compression to animals can help calm them, so I do understand and appreciate this vest – and thundershirts – for those animals who do experience anxiety. Maybe this will work for them.

good fit
I have a 13 lb bichon mix and I ordered a medium. The vest fits well due to the wide hook and loop closure so it gives you a bit of variation on how tight you can strap in the dog. The material is soft and the closure is very secure. The loud noise of the closure actually startled my dog. My 9 yr old dog is anxious about everything and always has been. I have tried anxiety meds for her but saw no effect so wanted to try this vest. Although is may work for a dog that is nervous about fireworks or particular noises, it didn’t work to calm my dog at all. The first day I was hopeful because she definitely was aware of the vest of course, and seemed to sleep longer that day. But after that, I didn’t notice any calming effects for her. I want to mention that I think my dog is more nervous than a typical dog who may just react to certain situations so this may work for your dog.

This coat is light weight yet does the job. You can wrap it as tight as necessary to provide relief to your pup from things like fireworks and other load noises. The quality is quite good and it should last a long time.
