Perfect Fit!
Let me start off by saying I have tried SOOOO many sweaters/ jackets from the store for my dachshund and they just are not made for this breed. I found this listing on Amazon and measured his back to make sure I got the right fit for him. He was 14”, that is an inbetween size as they offer 13” and 15” so I went with the 13” option and it fits him perfect. There is enough room that he can go out and do his business and it does not mess on the belly of the jacket, there are also fabric elastics built for the back legs to kit the jacket from slipping and he does not mind them. I love that the top is water resistant for those rainy snowy days and the reflective striping gives me peace of mind at night time. So thankful I found this in enough time before winter.

Fits my long skinny dog!
My little mini dachshund mix is super hard to fit, and the design of this coat is long enough to cover her whole back. The neck adjusts with good length of quality hook and loop so I can have her collar above to access and have it snug enough it’s not sliding back and getting her legs stuck. There is a harness port in the back of the coat for walks. The design includes a T-shaped piece that comes down her chest and has long “arms” of the T with nice long strips of velcro so it actually does wrap around and secure. This makes it fit her perfectly, and also does a nice job of protecting her “undercarriage” as well as her back from the wet. Those of us with low riders understand! Four stars instead of 3 because while the shell fabric is very nice and waterproof, the fleece lining is really thin, so it’s more of a rain coat than a winter coat and I wouldn’t call it padded.

Nice jacket!
My dog is skinny and long so finding a jacket was not easy. This one works pretty good. A little short (can’t use leg bands but doesn’t really need them) and I’m glad the Velcro around the middle is long so it still has plenty of grip even though it’s wrapped further than intended. It’s not super warm so will have to add a layer of it’s much below freezing but should keep rain and snow off. Price was right.

The coat doesn’t stay put while the dog is walking.
This is a nice looking coat and I love the fur lining. The coat fits my dauchshund lengthwise, but I have to constantly adjust the coat when we’re walking, because it won’t stay put.

This is the second dog coat I’ve tried to purchase on here that was false advertising.It is much thinner than you’d expect and the filler used to keep your dog warm is not fleece. Its a low quality, pilled, ugly grey, polyester substitute.The coat functionally works, but its in no way worth what they are charging for this bait and switch.

I bought this coat as preworn and it is as new. I love the style as it fastens under the chest and round the belly keeping all the dog lovely and dry and cosy and you can adjust the fit. Its not been cold enough to test outdoors yet but the material looks/feels robust and waterproof whilst being warmly lined but not overly bulky. However I did order one size to large for my mini sausage and the length goes a couple of inches over the base of the tail and there is plenty of growing room around the body! As it is preworn I bought it for a hugely reduced price and so decided to keep it, as although quite large the dog will only wear it in very bad weather when forced to go out (normally we don’t go out in bad weather). I didn’t feel the price of a new, smaller coat was justified for the amount of time it would be used. But if your dog would get the use out of it, go for it, I think it would be a good buy, good covering coats for sausages are hard to come by!
