Our “picky” cat 🐈‍⬛ loves it!
We buy so many toys and gifts that our cat will never play with or use, but he loves this. It is simple and a great value. It does exactly what you think it should do, but I would not fill it all the way up because your cat will not stop. lol I filled ours up catnip Temptation treats and they work great to get him used to how to work the treat dispenser. Definitely would recommend this if you’re looking for a treat dispenser.

    It’s great, but
So, this little treat ball is exactly what I needed for my very fat cat, he now has to work for his treats and watching him learn it was hilarious! There is a learning curve for you to, too small of treats and it will dispense them in piles (We tried it first with his kibble for his lunch). We then put actual treats (lower calorie than his kibble) and has worked great, but the ball does wear down after so many fills that it will start to close as kitty is playing with it, so we scotch taped it for it to stay open until we just bought another because it still is a good treat ball. The biggest problem though is that kitty will lose it everywhere, under the couch, behind the desk, in a corner of the room you would have no idea how they got it there… so we bought another cause we couldn’t find it, so now we have two and the one that was lost was found and the replacement for that is now lost.. LOL looking for the ball daily makes a fun game but your kitty will be of no help LOL

Good “puzzle”… or, just make your own.
I have been making treat containers for my furry kids for years. It’s simple really. I just take a plastic container and cut different size holes in them. When we first started, I cut out an empty (washed) peanut butter plastic jar and cut quite a few larger holes in it, so they would get the idea. They get new “puzzles” that have less holes and different shaped plastic containers. But this particular toy is a bit more intriguing and different from anything I have made for them, which is what I was looking for.The Treat Ball is human friendly to use. I like the option of different sized holes. One hole is small, one is big. The bigger one can be adjusted for different size treats or kibble. Some treats will get stuck and I have to shake the ball to get them loose. Sometimes more than one treat will come out. While in other efforts, some swipes will get the kitties nothing. It’s all part of the game. This ball can’t be opened to clean. But I am only putting treats in there, and when it is not in use I close it up. I might add that is it sturdy and can take a beating.I have one cat that will do almost anything to get tasty tidbits. This is Lulu, the cat that will do the work. The other (2) cats will sit and watch, then scarf up some treats that she has left behind. So it’s not really a fair game. Lulu still ends up with the majority of the treats. But hey, she’s doing all the work, right?I would recommend this treat dispenser. Be patient. It might take them a few days or longer to get the hang of it if your feline companion has never had to work for his/her food before. Put some delicious smelly treats in it. These puzzles not only keep a cat from eating too fast, but it also provides physical entertainment and keeps them intellectually stimulated. Which in turn, will make your cat live a longer life.

    Good ideas but bad implementation
I also own the PetSafe SlimCat Interactive Toy and Food Dispenser http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018CE8LQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and the Aikiou Stimulo Activity Food Center for Cats Grey/Green
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D91CQMW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Neither are really perfect so I decided to buy this dispensing ball too.Firstly, my goal is to reduce my cat’s weight. I want a device which the cat has to work at to get some food. Ideally, the device should wait until the cat is just about ready to give up before dispensing some food. The Petsafe Slimcat device falls flat here, because it is not infinitely adjustable. There is only 1-notch difference between “too much food coming out” and “no food coming out”. It can’t be adjusted more finely. As I mentioned, I also own the Aikiou Stimulo Activity Food Center for Cats Grey/Green. This one my cat has mastered and without availability of longer tubes, can’t be made more difficult. My cat can eat out of this nearly as fast hoovering up a normal bowl. Again, my goal is to make the cat SLOW DOWN so this isn’t ideal either. This Catit Treat Ball seems like a good idea- the hole sizes are infinitely adjustable. However, finding a position between “3 pieces of kibble dropping every 1 second” and “no kibble coming out” is really difficult, even given the amount of adjustability. To make matters worse, there is no positive locking device to maintain the setting. Just by knocking the ball around a bit, my cat has managed to change the position of the hole adjust device enough to make a big difference. She will start to meow because she managed to close up the holes a little bit and no kibble is coming out. Having to fuss with the feeder in the middle of feeding is very irritating and does not happen with either of the other 2 cat feeders I own.A second flaw is that to fill this ball, you have to rotate the hold adjusting ring, losing your carefully-chosen feeding setting. The PetSafe SlimCat ball has a separate feeding door so that you can leave the adjusting mechanism alone and locked.I will continue to use this ball in rotation with my other 2 cat feeders. I think my cat enjoys the variety of having 3 different feeders available with a different one every day. However, the adjusting ring can’t be locked into position, and when refilling the ball you lose your last feeding setting, which takes some fussing to get perfect. Because of this, I waste 2-4 minutes more time on this ball per-feeding than on my other feeding devices, and can’t recommend it. In theory, the unlimited adjustability of this Catit ball should mean it is superior to the PetSafe SlimCat ball. In practice, however, it falls flat due to the problems I mentioned. If you are in the market for a feeding ball, the PetSafe SlimCat ball is a lot easier to fill and doesn’t need continual adjustments.

    Perfect for kitties dry food
My cat now has 4 of these with 2 different dry foods . I keep 2 loaded so during my busy schedule I can jump swap them out . She prefers eating from these over eating her dry in a dish but still has a dish with dry just in case. Great to alleviate feline boredom or for pets who eat their dry too quickly . 🙂

I bought this for my cat who doesn’t play with any toys EVER!, but I figured since it dispensed treats he might be at least into that part. First couple of days I literally had to teach him how to play with it lol, yup got right down on the ground and batted it around (the things we do for our fur babies) … now 2 weeks into him having his new toy, he a pro soccer player lol….. he’s kicking this ball around the house like Beckham. I love that it doesn’t dispense the treats very easily and makes him actually work for it. Although I think that might be what he doesn’t like and he tends to smack it around really hard lol….. Great product, love and makes my cat happy and physically active 🙂

Eine Katze liebt es, die andere kann damit nicht anfangen. Funktioniert sehr gut für kleines Trockenfutter und wenn die Katzen es kapiert
