Runs smallâas most dog gear does
The XXXL just fits my 65 lb Dane/Pit mix. It would definitely not fit my larger shepherds or Pyrenees. Thankfully the larger dogs donât need the insulation, but my pit mix was so happy to go outside today and not freeze. He even stayed outside and played for a while. Normally he comes running back in on cold days because he canât regulate his body temp since his hair is so short.Size up for sure.

Perfect
This coat is perfect for both my dogs! The pink camo is a XXL & fits my 40lb lab mix perfectly & the purple is a size medium on my 15lb chihuahua mix. Neither of them like the leg straps but the coat still works just fine. Also recommend buckling the harness part and then zipping it up, makes it SO much easier.

NOT true to size!
I ordered an XL for our 1 year old Great Weim. (Great Dane/weimareiner) If this is an XL, Iâll eat the sellers shorts! This wonât even fit on our medium size dog! This XL measures 10 inches across at the widest point. I put my hand in one photo for reference, as I have tiny hands. I wear a ring size 4 if that tells you anything. The way these dog jackets run, if you need a size XS or Small, order the XL. This is definitely getting returned since I canât even use it for my smaller dog.

Size chart inaccurate
Fortunately, I had read others’ reviews prior to ordering, so I ordered two sizes larger than recommended by the size chart. Otherwise, no issues.

Defective design
So, I was looking for a coat that would match my other dogs black and white camo print coat. I’d been holding out for a pink camo print coat so was excited to receive this. It’s adorable and matches with her brother’s coat well. The fabric is nice and the coat is lined with a fuzzy fleece for added warmth. We didn’t experience the same sizing issues as others. We ordered the XXXL and it’s too long on my 20″ girl. I’m not a fan of step in style. Also don’t care for the harness straps, as I would never trust it to hold my dog… So why the low rating? The main zipper does not stay up!! Within 5 minutes of zipping it up it starts to creep down. By 15 min it’s halfway down her back. I’ve tried every configuration to get it to stay up and it won’t. I don’t think replacing the coat would solve it. The design is flawed… And just when I was about to be fed up with this coat the faulty zipper head broke. Making zipping up really hard to do. I’ve had it! So disappointed with this coat. Back to the drawing board to get her a pink camo.-*Thanks for reading my review. I hope it helps make your decision easier.*

Pepper weighs about 37 pounds. The large was too small. Reordered an XXL and it fit perfect. Love that the harness is included. Good for male for female.

Runs REALLY SMALL — even when you measure
We have a lanky rescue dog that is thin and long legged. She weighs less than 20 pounds. This jacket in size medium is tight on her. We cannot use the elastic straps around the hind legs because they are too short and uncomfortable on her — cut off the circulation at the top of her leg. The length of the jacket from neck to tail is too short. The jacket is super easy to put on her and just requires a step in (she is good at that) of the front legs and then a zip up the back. Fortunately, she is calm when putting the jacket on and getting the zipper lined up only takes a couple of tries. If I was using this on one of my other dogs that goes bonkers – crazy – enthusiastic when going for a walk, I am sure I would have a hard time getting the two zipper sides lined up to zip. The straps do not really allow any adjustment for size. They are basically at full open wide when they arrive so there is no room to make this larger. Our dog does not have a large chest (she is really quite thin) but this is a snug fit. If your dog was any larger at all, this would not fit. If your dog is a breed that is chubby or has a larger chest, it will not fit. The fabric seems to cut the wind but does not appear to really be rain repellent although we have not used it in the rains since the dog refuses to walk in the rain! The fuzzy lining is soft and warm. The “reflective strips” are VERY thin and small — basically the size of the hip seam and would not serve any useful purpose for safety. The listing on Amazon says that the collar can keep head and ears warm; but that is absolutely not possible. The collar even when not folded come no where near close enough to the head — several inches short.
