Wow – a product that works
I have a 9 month old golden doodle that has destroyed (chewing) my living room furniture. Sheâs chewed all decorative pillow corners & now the actual sofa arms. Bought this Bitter no chew & hot spot spray Lenongrass . I bought because of reviews & itâs been an awesome product. This has a very strong smell difficult to explain the smell – not bad – not great/ sort off cheap cologne but tones down after a day. This is highly bitter, additionally, open windows when u spray it. The atomized spray will get into your nose, rear throat , itâs wicked. Now, my doodle will chew anything that she can grab & destroy it. Example many pairs of shoes. So I took the un chewed leftover rubber crock shoe & sprayed it.( if itâs rubber she canât resist it) I sprayed it & put it on an ottoman where she would be able to take it! I sprayed all pillow corners, arms of sofa that she continues to chew! Guess what no more chewing. I saw her try to chew one of the recently sprayed area & the look & negative reaction was priceless. ( I really enjoyed watching her negative reaction- it was priceless-my bad, but still priceless). Well itâs been two days & the crock shoe is still on the ottoman & she hasnât touched it or any of the previously chewed spots. I took a leftover pillow that hadnât been chewed sprayed & put it where she could chew or grab it. Well, sheâs left it alone. Finally a product that works. It doesnât take much to be effective. The scent isnât bad except initially. No more chewing & destroying things! I gave the scent 5 stars not because itâs awesome scent but because I believe the strong scent help deter the dog , along with the horrid bitter taste.

Probably Bad Luck
This spray did not work for me at all but it could have just been bad luck for me which is why I’m not rating it lower. It may work well on other pets but my dog did not seem to care at all about the smell nor taste of this spray. We tried light sprays, nothing. HEAVY sprays, nothing. Spray on his paw, NOTHING! I’m purely rating as a 3 star because I was disappointed in the product not working for us. I can not positively say that this spray doesn’t work at all however so I would still recommend everyone to at least give it a try. My dog could just be a weird one.

Ineffective, Bitter Tasting But Smells Good
I bought this because my golden retriever puppy has decided that I am a human chew toy and I was getting desperate. I can confirm that the product does taste bitter because I sprayed it on myself, forgot about it, and accidentally tasted it. It also smells really good, if you like the smell of lemongrass. I find this a bit odd — how can something smell this good but taste that bad at the same time? The problem is that it’s just not effective. I sprayed it on everything that my puppy liked to chew on and what did he do? He licked it off. Then looked at the bottle like he wanted more. I KNOW that this stuff is bitter-tasting, but it didn’t deter my pup one bit. So, save your money because this isn’t the solution.

Not worth the money
Even the degree of expense would be worth it if the product works. I have a small dog with a bad habit. After the first use of the product, the dog promptly peed in the sprayed area. Consequently, the product is not effective and, not even close to price charged.

I have not used something like this in the past with our other puppies, but we have a new puppy that does not stop no matter how hard you try. I wasn’t sure if this stuff was going to stain my furniture or smell bad, but it doesn’t do either of those things. Just spray the area that they are chewing and she doesn’t like the taste and immediately stops.

My pitbull hates the smell! It works.
Update: Itâs been a couple months now. Chief still hates the smell and taste! Lol It works wonders and honestly itâs helped break the habit of chewing in his paws 24/7! Amazing!My rescue pitbull, Chief, has so many skin allergies. We have to get him prescription meds. Now we have something to use in the in between to help prevent him from chewing at his front paws. ð¾ The poor thing has white paws but they look brown in the center just from chewing. So when we sprayed this stuff on him and he sneezed and shook his head lol we were like YES! Finally a deterrent! Itâs so safe and doesnât mess up our floors. You can just spray wherever heâs at. Heâs got weeks of us spraying him for it to get better because his paws are THAT bad but now we have another tool in our arsenal. And this is one stubborn dog. I saw that reviews said it didnât work for their dogs so itâs a personal dog preference. I almost didnât buy this product because of those reviews but im so glad I gave it a try! I suggest you do the same. Worst thing that happens is you have to return it. But if it works, itâs life changing for both of yâall. My dogs didnât really chew and destroy stuff as puppies but just seeing how Chief wonât put his mouth on his paws assures me it would deter him from chewing anything else. So I highly recommend this product!

Doesn’t work on dumb dogs
Sprayed this on our furniture that my dumb dog chews on, and he promptly started licking it…and continued licking it. I know this works on other animals, maybe my dog is too dumb to to notice

Very strong perfume odor.
I can’t tell you yet whether this works to keep my dog from chewing the plant I sprayed this on (she seems even more interested in sniffing it, but I haven’t seen her bite it yet). What I can say is that the smell is STRONG. I sprayed this last night and have had a headache ever since. I have all the windows on the first floor of my house open and the smell is not going away. I’ve purchased other bitter sprays before and they’ve never been like this. I’m seriously thinking of taking the day off work and getting a hotel room.
