As a long-time Blue customer, I can attest to this
As a dedicated pet owner, I’ve been feeding my cats with Blue Buffalo recipes since the early days of the company. This long-standing relationship has proven to be a reliable choice for my feline companions.Since making the switch to Blue, I’ve seen my four cats thrive well into their mid-to-late 20s, with one nearly reaching the impressive age of 29. None have passed away before the age of 24, and the noticeable reduction in health issues is a testament to the effectiveness and safety of Blue Buffalo recipes.I offer a variety of Blue Buffalo kibble, rotating between the different recipes and occasionally mixing in another premium kibble. This variety ensures that my cats enjoy their meals and receive a balanced diet.Currently, I have two cats. Ella is 11, and Bubba is 2.While my cats don’t have any particular skin and stomach health sensitivities, Blue Basics is specially designed for skin and stomach care and mature indoor cats. The most important thing about cat food ingredients is that the first ingredient should be meat, fowl, or fish and that there should be no corn, soy, wheat, gluten, or unnamed ingredients. Blue Basics and all of Blue Buffalo’s recipes meet these requirements. Additionally, Blue Buffalo recipes are without artificial flavors or preservatives. Moreover, the Basics recipe is free from common allergens such as chicken, beef, dairy, or eggs. While these ingredients are not necessarily harmful, some cats may have sensitivities to them. Blue Basics caters to these sensitivities, ensuring a safe and healthy diet for your cat.The first ingredient is turkey, and the recipe also contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids to support skin and coat health, pea fiber and pumpkin to promote digestion, and vitamins E and C, supporting immune system health. The darker kibble in all Blue Buffalo recipes is known as LifeSource Bits. It contains a precise blend of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals to support immune system health and a healthy oxidative balance for your cat. I did have one cat who would pick out the LifeSource Bits and refuse to eat them, but none of the others objected to them.Considering that approximately 80% of cat food’s ingredients can be found in the first four listed ingredients, let’s look at the first eight ingredients in Blue Basics: deboned turkey, Turkey Meal, Peas, Potatoes, Tapioca Starch, Pea Starch, Pea Protein, and Pea Fiber. The rest of the list is not scary, either.

    No more barfing!
Pootie Tang had recently developed a severe issue with what I call ‘scarf and barf’. He’s 14 or 15 years old. After every meal, I’d hear him puking all over the house. Sometimes it was his dry food coming back up, sometimes clear liquid if he had no food in his stomach. When he’d come to me for pets, I could hear his stomach churning and his breath was horrible. He had been eating Purina ONE hairball formula. I switched him to the more costly Purina Pro Plan for Sensitive Skin and Stomach in an effort to get him feeling better. This had the opposite effect. He seemed to improve a bit at first and then spent all day one Saturday vomiting. I know he was absolutely miserable.I then became aware of limited ingredient cat foods, and this one seemed to have good reviews. As soon as this came in, I threw the Purina Pro Plan in the garbage. He’s been eating Blue Buffalo for close to a month now. In the first week, he still had some stomach issues and vomited a few times, but in the last two weeks there as been a complete turnaround. He simply does not vomit anymore. He’s improved so much that I feel intensely guilty for not getting this for him sooner. He also seems to enjoy the food , as does my other healthier cat. Both took to eating it without issue.

    Blue Basics is awesome!
I originally fed Princess Eukanuba until they stopped making it. I tried natural brand after natural brand and she hated them all.My mom had been feeding her dog Blue Basics because he got Pancreatitis if he ate wrong thing,.I decided to give it a try. She loved it from the first sniff. Since then, it’s been 6 years on Blue Basics Turkey and Potato, and she’s now almost 10 years old and very healthy. I switched her to mature food when she was about 7, so she’s been eating this for a while. She still loves it.The Veterinarian recently gave her a clean bill of health. This food costs a little more, but it’s totally worth the extra few dollars to see my Princess still playing like a kitten.I recommend Blue Buffalo food to all my friends that have furry “children”.I love hearing she’s healthy, and I hope to have her at least another 10+ years.

    old) both like this food
Our two cats, ( 1yr old and 14 yr. old) both like this food. The size of the kibbles are to their liking, not too small or two large. And I assume they enjoy the flavor. One reason I chose it was because of no grains.

    I would buy these again!!
One of my fur babies is having stomach trouble and I was told to look for a food that would help. This one is the one that came up and so far it is a good choice.

Didn’t know a different food could make such a difference
We recently switched our 2 senior cats from Purina One to this food because they had started throwing up almost daily. They have almost completely stopped throwing up. Only do it if they get into some people food they shouldn’t have. The most amazing thing though is, our oldest cat’s eye. She has had an eye issue for years, stemming from an injury. Her eye has been cloudy and weeping goopy gunk. We tried several treatments and were just resigned to her being like that since it didn’t seem painful. A few days after we switched food, we noticed her eye wasn’t gunky anymore. It has gradually cleared over the past month and now it’s almost the same as the good eye. It seems unbelievable that it could be from food but that’s the only thing that has changed. I’ve always felt bad that we couldn’t do anything about her eye. I wish we had switched her food years ago. We thought we were giving her a fine kind of food but we had no idea what she was eating could be affecting her that way
