Able to get a king cover on over a bamboo mattress cover with ease!
Ordered a BeâDecor Premium Mattress Encasement in king and two Utopia Bedding twon encasements (on flash sale) for my rental. I canât see the differences between the fabric and construction between brands. Both brands were excellent with really great zippers with Velcro flap to cover the zipper end which not only keeps any bed bugs out, but also can save your hands from scrapes when changing bedding. I havenât tested the waterproof qualities of either, but with a mattress pad on top that is not really a big concern for me. Both are quiet when moving in bed. I always have a bedding wrestling match when having to move my very heavy 100% talalay latex mattress. But working alone I was able to open the case, and starting at the top of the mattress get the cover rolled like a sock to fit over the top then slowly work the cover down to the mattress bottom going from side to side. Took about 5 minutes to get it on, but it went on smoothly with relative ease as the fabric is very close woven like a fine percale, but has some stretch. No rips or tears! Highly recommend both encasement brands.

I ordered the correct size for my bed and it still lift tons of extra space for maneuvering around. The material doesnât even feel waterproof but in a good way, the inside definitely is plasticy but the outside is just a little like a hospital bed sheet, bearable enough to sleep on with just a blanket if you really needed to

Fits my single king mattress well, nice and snug so doesnât leave wrinkles under sheet. Was easy to put on. Did so easily by myself but larger sizes might require assist. Does not feel hot. Have only used for a week or so, unable to say if waterproof, no spills yet.

I bought this for added protection in the wake of a bed bug problem. An exterminator has come in 3 times now so they should all be gone, but I wanted an encasement just in case, especially since my mattress is only 6 months old. It’s only been on the mattress for about an hour, so I can’t speak to its effectiveness for bed bugs yet, but if it fails terribly I will come update my review :PI first want to address one issue that I read in many reviews before taking a chance and buying this product. Many people have said in their reviews that the encasement is very thin and rips easily. This hasn’t been my experience so far. It was very easy to put on by myself, and did not feel flimsy or delicate. For context, I have a very light, 5 inch foam mattress. If someone has found their encasement is ripping while putting it on or sleeping on it, I suspect they tried to force it onto a mattress that’s too thick for it, or have struggled to pull it onto a very heavy mattress without getting help. One of my review pictures shows that the encasement depth is EXACTLY 6 inches as advertised, and if your mattress is even a little bit thicker than that, you risk ripping the encasement while putting it on or moving around on the bed.It’s surprisingly soft and no more noisy than most mattress covers. It doesn’t have a plastic feel to it. Once my sheets are over top, I don’t think I’ll be able to hear it too much. However, if you sleep on just the encasement with no sheets on top it probably won’t be very comfortable. It’s not as soft or as breathable as sheets, and will make more noise as you move around.The zipper seems to be pretty good quality, and there’s a velcro piece that fully covers the end where the zipper head stops, for added protection against allergens and bugs. I feel confident this encasement will protect against bed bugs just as well as more expensive products would.I can’t speak to how waterproof it is. I didn’t buy it for its waterproof properties and haven’t tested it.Overall, I am very pleasantly surprised and satisfied with this product. I’m very short on money right now but the bed bugs have been extremely stressful. Choosing between a cheaper encasement with some negative reviews about the quality to save money, or buying a more expensive and “reliable” product was a hard decision to make. As of writing this review, I don’t regret my purchase and I’m glad I saved some money on a cheaper option. I definitely recommend if you need an encasement for cheap.
Finally a new mattress –
Just put on our the mattress cover on our new (desperately needed mattress). It is a 13 inch mattress. My husband and I put it on with no problem whatsoever. We are very glad we went with the 13 inch bc there is still some room to spare. Not too much but enough to allow for some wiggle room and easy zip up. Hopefully it doesn’t become too “bunchy” bc that is my concern. I like a tight fit bc I cannot stand loose fitting sheets! Purchase the size cover that your mattress is! Do not go any bigger.
