My dogs do really well on this food
Ended up getting this food after my dog started itching from eating Wellness Senior. We think she needed the higher oil content. She does much better on this, and my other dog also benefits from the oils!

No more ulcers for my pooch!
I have a 14 year old toy poodle and I have never seen him actually want to eat dog food until I bought him this food. Now he begs for it morning and night! He’s finally getting the nutrition and flavor he loves! He had ulcers before I bought him this food which is why I decided to try something new. After I got his ulcers cleared up I tried thos for fear his old food might bring them back. Well I’ll tell you he is healthy as horse now! He’s not food aggressive but he used to let my roommates dog eat his old food….NOT ANYMORE! He definitely protects it better if he leaves any at all! He is much happier and livelier than he has been in a while! We will be repeat customers that’s for sure!

Increase your Dog’s Nastiest Farts by %110
I switched to this after reading an online blog about how to help your dogs skin condition. I thought “wow this is expensive, but, if it helps my beloved Kato, it’s worth it”. I got the shipment and gave some to my pooch. He seemed to like the taste and gobbled it up. This went on for a couple days and then it began…. the green cloud of dog farts that poisoned our air for the ensuing week. I mean it was kinda funny when he would be sitting with his little doggy bunghole on the wood floor and it would squeak on the way out, but OMG the smell! RANCID! Now, my dog is the most well behaved and well mannered dog you’d ever be lucky enough to pet, he NEVER does anything bad or wrong. This dog hasnt had an accident in my house since he was a pup but this food changed that. One morning I woke to find him laying in his bed looking like he just murdered Mother Teresa and a fresh mooshy pile of rancid smelling dog pooh right in front of the fire place where the warm air was quickly spreading the smell throughout the open floor plan of my home. Poor guy just looked at me with the SADDEST puppy dog eyes you’ve ever seen, as if to say “Sorry mama, i couldnt hold it, I didnt mean it, please don’t be mad” …poor Kato. To say this food didnt agree with him is the understatement of the year! I switched him to another food and his gastro problems immediately disappeared. So BEWARE! this dog food definitely was a bad plan for my sweet boy, but hey, if you want to use your pooch as chemical warfare just feed him some of this food and take him for a visit 😉

What’s going on with Amazon?
What’s going on with Amazon and dog food lately? The reason I switched to this brand was because Amazon raised the price of the last brand I was using by 71+%. Now I come back to reorder the AvoDerm and find that Amazon has raised the price 80%!!!!! I started buying dog food on Amazon in the first place because, like many products, it was more cost effective to do so, and also because Amazon offers a few extra selections not found in my local pet shop (like this AvoDerm, for example). However, at these prices, I’m going to start supporting my local merchant again. Plus it’ll give the dogs another opportunity to get out of the house when they accompany me.Now with that said, I think this is really good dog food. Grain-free is always a good thing, and my dog devours it ravenously (there isn’t much my dog WON’T eat, but he attacks this stuff with vigor). The size of the kibble is a bit larger than I would prefer (my dog is a 20-lb Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix), but obviously he doesn’t have a problem with that. I really appreciate finding a senior formula made with something other than chicken, too. Perhaps that’s why my dog loves it so much, something different for his palatte. And it’s good for him… 28% protein vs 10% fat is a darn good ratio, plus the food helps support healthy joints, eyesight, brain power, and his immune system (or so the packaging claims, and I haven’t witnessed anything to the contrary). So honestly, if it weren’t for the 80% price hike (which is why only 4 stars, by the way), I’d be extremely happy continuing to feed this to my dog. If YOU don’t mind paying the premium price, however, then I believe this would be a wise choice for your senior companion.

My dog is a fan
I have tried many high quality dog food brands and Avoderm is the best for my dog. This is the only brand I have tried with her that keeps her coat and skin hydrated, keeps her at a healthy weight, and gives her a nutrient rich diet (no grass eating!) She also has a sensitive stomach and has no problems digesting This food. 5 stars from my dog and her happy mom!
