This Dog Bed is Great!
I purchased this for our 80 lb. Labradoodle. After reading the reviews and saw so many disgruntled buyers I wondered if I made a mistake. Some said it wasn’t the right size some said it was flat. Some said it was cheaply made. I am really happy with the dog bed and our dog loves it. It was the size specified and the fullness pictured. My dog doesn’t chew or dig on things so I have no worries of him scratching the seams into breaking loose or chewing a hole in it. My wife and I are considering buying a second one for the main floor of our house.

Nice to look at but cheaply made
Unfortunately Iâm not at all happy with this bed. It looks beautiful but itâs soo cheaply made for the price! The fabric ripped as soon as my bull terrier started trying to paw at it to get comfortable as most dogs do. The stuffing came out all over the place, Iâm not sure what that stuff inside is…. I bought from AKC believing it would be a quality product. Please if the company sees this review, please contact me to rectify the fact I lost $50 and my dog never even slept on it…

He’s a sturdy little fellow
I have had this bed for about a month. I bought it for my aging beagle/basset hound mix. He’s a sturdy little fellow, about 40 pounds, and loves to SPRAWL when he sleeps. He has plenty of room on this bed to do just that. It’s cushiony, even after a solid month of my chubby little guy sleeping on it for about 20 hours a day. (Literally. The laziest dog there ever lived.) It’s been washed, and it’s easy to remove the bolsters to wash the cover. It cleans up well – I wash it on a gentle cycle with warm water (he stinks), and put it in the dryer. I had no problem inserting the pillows back in and zipping up the cover. My sweet boy loves this bed 🙂

Extremely fragile fabric, poor quality bed
Do not buy this, as the bed fabric is unbelievably thin and fragile. My dog is not really chewer and never harmed prior beds, but this was no challenge to destroy at all. FYI we have only had the bed for a few weeks. She easily tore off the entire long zipper (oddly placed right where a dog would find it, instead of on the bottom or more hidden), creating a massive mess of foam bits everywhere as the messy filling is not at all encased, but just a pile of loose foam scraps around a thin bag of some other flat filling. I don’t know how you could wash this without the loose foam being all over as it is right under the cover….lots of mess.I patched that huge zipper hole, but found it hard to do as the fabric was practically shredding with handling—it is as if a velour were made on a backing of old brittle panty-hose knit. Just the weirdest and worst fabric choice from the AKC?..who really should know about dogs….. Last night my dog picked open another hole in the center top and this time the bed has to go to the dump. Dog beds need to be sturdy like canvas or heavy upholstery fabric….not a nearly sheer, easily tearable knit. Design is OK but execution is weak and flimsy.

First bed ordered was good the second bed ordered was not so good, different manufacturing, cheaper feel.
So I have purchased two of these pet beds about two weeks apart. The first bed was made of solid memory foam around the edge with some broken up memory foam in the middle. The size was correct. I was very happy with the bed which I use in my dog’s crate. I was so happy I decided to purchase another one to use In the house. It arrived yesterday and it is smaller and it is not made with the same type of memory foam. There is no solid memory foam around the edge instead it is all broken up foam that was stuffed in it. It seems to me that the seller has gone with a different manufacture or the manufacturer has changed it. If I were the seller I would make sure that I deliver a product that is consistent and not change it up because you will lose customers and you get bad reviews this way. I gave this bed three stars but I would have to give my second bed one star.

Not for large dogs…seriously
Bought this for our 12lb Italian greyhound. It didnt arrive super compressed as the other reviewers described. The feeling of it is really soft and plush, not like there’s sawdust inside or whatever we’d read in previous reviews.We’d been looking at ped beds in various pet stores for a while and all of those felt really cheap, even the ones marked ‘memory foam’. We sleep on a memory foam mattress and none of those felt close!Anyway, we settled on this one, despite the reviews of labs and pits tearing theirs to shreds and how thin the material seemed to be. When we got the bed, honestly, the reviews made sense. The bed was comfortable and perfect for our needs but would never make sense for a large dog, especially one that chews. Our lanky Italian Greyhound (essentially a miniature Greyhound, no taller than knee height) can stretch her legs and have some room left. I don’t know how a dog any bigger than her is going to enjoy this thing.Anyway, she loves it! We put it right in front of the fireplace with some blankets and she just snoozes like a little Queen.

Dogs tore holes in the top within 2 days.
The center section is a loose knitted plush, so the dogs were able to tear holes in it within the first two days.The bolster and sides are a sturdier fabric and they haven’t torn that. The underside fabric (a third variety) is quite fragile, and if you have a dog that will flip the bed over while trying to build a nest, they will probably dig holes in the underside as well. The foam shred with which the main section of the bed and the bolster are stuffed is encased in a non-woven fabric that falls apart from wear, and doesn’t prevent the stuffing from coming out when holes appear in the outer fabric.The dogs like the beds and they are comfortable, but not sturdy at all. If all surfaces were covered with the same suede-like fabric as the sides and bolster, the bed would probably hold up better.We have had a chew-proof bed we got from K9 Ballistics that has lasted for two or three years with no holes. We should have bought more of those for the other rooms. They are quite a bit more expensive, but in the long run are better value – you save by not having to replace.

This was bought not for a dog but for my cats, most of whom are large enough breeds that typical cat beds aren’t big enough for them. But this memory foam bed allows 2 of them to cuddle up together on it, or one of them to stretch out and have plenty of space, which is nice, and they all seem to enjoy it. The memory foam has yet to squish down and get uncomfortable despite frequent use, which is also nice, since 2 of my cats are old and their bones and joints need more comfort than they did in younger days. This bed is also large enough that I can lay a heating pad down on it for cold days; at times like that, this thing becomes first-come, first-claimed. Really, though, I like that it’s large enough for multiple cats while still not being so large that it feels cumbersome to move or like it’s in the way. I would definitely buy another one of these once this one wears out, though it doesn’t seem like that will be for quite some time yet.

Bigger than I thought, but my dog loves it. Lots of room for him to stretch out, which a better for his arthritis. It is well made and thick for comfort. The inner cushion can be removed for washing. Good value compared with other shop items.
