Helps to slow my dog down when eating
This item has been working well to slow my fast-eating dog down significantly. He used to be done within less than 5 minutes, but this bowl has definitely helped to slow him down.

Good bowl
Great bowl to slow down the gobblegook dog but she chewed up the fan part. More my fault that the bowls.

Dog chewed it to pieces on the first meal
I have a ceramic slow feeder and my GSD still inhales 4 cups in about 2 minutes. So I thought I would try this one, and was very excited about it. Seemed to be working well at first, but when I came back to check later the dog had chewed it to pieces. It was a little odd, because he doesn’t chew his chew toys and isn’t interested in Bully Sticks… so I really didn’t expect him to do this to the bowl. I am not sure if he got frustrated with it or if he got all excited from the stimulation. I can see this working for smaller dogs, but if you have a large breed – consider wisely.

My dog is too smart for this, quality is okay, seems like it won’t last for chewers
If your dog is a clever dog they most likely will also have the brains to just… pick it up by the middle bit and drop the bowl onto the ground to spill the food out without any effort or work on their part. That said, it didn’t break and a solution I found was to tape it down to her raised eating platform which fit the slow feeder perfectly flush. The fans turn pretty tight at first but has slowly gotten looser with time, they do keep food covered and the maze on the inside makes it slightly tougher for a dog to get into it. But my dog just snuffles it with her nose and gets to the food pretty easily. It takes my dog around 7 minutes on average to get through her two scoops with this bowl where has with other puzzles it can take her up to 20 minutes. I feed her two scoops (two cups) for dinner and it’s a pretty tight fit, plenty of kibble ends up at the edges of the maze making it as basic as a bowl to eat from. But if you have a smaller dog or feed them one scoop at a time it will likely take them longer to get through the food. With it taped down I can see this lasting longer but even just on her first time eating from the bowl she was able to chew at the edges of the plastic leaving them dented. I do however appreciate that it can be cleaned easily as its smooth and thus less likely to hold bacteria. Some improvements that could be made are:Even if its just for two cups of food you should have some wiggle room for moreMake the maze more complexMake the flowers harder to spin or more awkward covering the food in the mazeA tougher plastic in generalIs it a bad slow feeder? No, you could do a lot worse. But is it great? Not really, it’s just okay. If I paid for this I would have returned it.

Ideal for fast eaters
I originally wanted it for my dog, but after seeing it in person I decided to gift it to my brother’s dog. The quality looked good. I liked that it makes a fast eater slow down even more. Compared to other slow feeders it looks like it would take the dog or cat even longer to finish.
