I can finally sleep
We’re only three nights in, but so far so amazing! Our cats are 3 years old and have been waking us at all hours for a few months. It started with Daylight Savings (which, surprise! they do not acknowledge). They wanted to eat earlier and earlier, and in our frustration, we did not ignore them, and we made it so much worse by reacting and even feeding them in our desperation. We were starting to literally go insane from lack of sleep, so we are trying everything. These mice seem to have saved us.First, the packages we got included mice that each have one hole on top, not two. The hole is adjustable to be bigger or smaller for different levels of difficulty. We use tiny kibble, and only add about half a tablespoon to each mouse. We are not using them to deliver a meal, just a snack (they eat wet food twice a day), and I don’t find the holes to be too large.Second, they took to these mice right away. Kibble is a treat for them, so they came running when I added kibble to two of the mice to try them out. We never used the trainer. They immediately figured out how to get the kibble, batting the mice around, picking them up with their teeth and shaking them like prey, to get one or two pieces to shake out. I put out all 6 mice the first night, and like magic, our problem was solved. This has become a new game each night. They followed me around when I put the mice around the house, and they still enjoyed hunting for them while we slept. They even tend to drag a few into our room.I think these are a brilliant idea, a great execution, and totally worth the money. The mice we received were not poor quality, everything was as expected or better. I highly recommend these, and I will try to come back and update as time goes on to let you know if they continue to work. If you’re on the fence about purchasing these, I have to tell you, I think you should try them–especially if your story resembles mine.

Decent results so far; Cheaply made
I love the idea. It definitely slows down my orange catâs eating patterns. Itâs also super fun and cute to watch him hunt his prey and vocally confirm when he finds one of the mice. Lol. He also has not woken us up at between 2:00am-3:30am ever since we got it!! We still only feed him twice a day, just no slow feeder bowl anymore. Heâs extremely dood driven so we didnât even have to use the trainer mouse, put the mice where is bowl used to be, or start with the opening wider.MY ONLY COMPLAINT: The inconsistent build of each mouse. The sliding adjuster that makes the hole for kibble to fall through bigger or smaller on 2 of them is good, but on the other one is super loose. This is a common critique across all buyers. I wish they would send me a replacement mouse!! Not all 3 mice, just that one. Itâs easier for him to get the food out of that one because he just opens it himself.I canât speak for households that use this feeding method for more than one cat. I have 3 cats, but the other 2 are not good driven enough to like this method. They also are not overweight warranting a slow feeder or more physical activity. To be updated later: He hasnât really lost weight yet, but itâs only been two weeks so I will update in a month or so. The overall change weâve seen is in his behavior. His most active hours are at feeding time and his zoomies are intermittent, but not while weâre sleeping because heâs tired from the hunt 🙂

Great for cats that need to lose weight
I’ve had these about a year now. When I took my cat to the vet last year, she was overweight because I fed her too much out of ignorance. The vet wanted me to buy expensive diet cat food but I wanted to see if just feeding her the right amount would work. The vet suggested getting these mice to help my cat be more active and eat less. It worked! When I took her to the vet today my cat had lost 4 pounds in the year we’ve been using the mice. It took a short period of time to get my cat used to the idea. They are too big for her to pick up and carry around and she’s not too smart so I can’t hide them too well, but she knows just what to do with them. I used to have to bathe her or get her groomed because she couldn’t clean herself and her fur would be greasy and dirty and her behind would be quite messy. In the past few months I noticed her grooming herself more, and I realized her fur felt softer and cleaner and that her rear end was no longer messy. This is a great product and it helps me save money since I don’t have to buy expensive diet cat food or pay to have her groomed.

Cute and great concept! Holes too big!
When I originally saw this a several months back, I really liked the concept. One of my cats was too fat and this seemed like a great way to slow her from guzzling food. But before I would spend the money on it I decided to test the theory of it by making my own kibble dispenser by drilling 3 small holes in pill bottles, just a tad bigger than the kibble bits and on both sides of the bottle. The cats seemed to enjoy batting the bottles around and working at getting the kibble. It gave them exercise and kept them from eating too fast. They really took to it. So I decided to order these cutesy ones after all since they were obviously able to enjoy their kibble this way. Only these dispensed the kibble way too fast because of the large holes. They ate it all in no time without traveling from the spot it was set down. I like my pill bottle version for providing more of a challenge in needing to roll it and jiggle it to get the kibble out. These can just be knocked on their side and most of the kibble falls out. They finish it off in no time, right where it was served. I was disappointed because these are so much cuter than the drilled pill bottles!

I read the reviews on this product and was hesitant to buy. Like anything that costs more than 20$, I did not want to pay for a cheap thing that would not last. So I waited a bit then made the purchase. I do not regret it! It takes a little bit of training for the cat to get used to the presence of the big mouse. The first time he got a bit scared and ran away from it. I played with him and showed him the kibbles fall when you shake it around. I let him see me when I fill them up so he gets that there is food in there. I hide the mouses around the apartment, under furniture, in dark corners, in a paper bag or a cardboard box. He always finds them. You can start with the widest opening and very smelly kibbles like salmon to help him a bit. But quickly transition to the smallest adjustment to make it a bit more challenging. It took overall 3 weeks for him to get all his dry food from the mice. I keep feeding him wet food after our playtime. It works great! I hope they will start selling replacement cover fabric eventually. Even though the spandex covering the plastic shape is sturdy and not look cheap, this will not last for more than a year if you cat is not declawed like mine. We will see. But so far I am extremely satisfied with the product. It takes a bit of work in the beginning but my 9 months kitten is much less stressed and dependant on me for his feeding now. He is happy!

I have a collection of feeding puzzles for my 2 cats to keep things interesting for them, mine are both indoor cats. These have definitely gone down well with them in fact one of mine actually prefers his food in these to his bowl. I hide these around the house whilst they eat some food from their bowl (otherwise I get watched) as soon as they are finished off they go hunting for them. Weâve certainly seen a change in their behaviour they are more relaxed and clearly enjoy hunting them.We didnât need the training mouse they got the hang of them straight away. They easy to clean, skip the cover off and separate the plastic pod to wash out. The only flaw is the feeding adjustment is easily knocked whilst the cats bat/throw them around. But despite this these are definitely worth getting for your fur baby.
