Really slows them down
First my dog is a block head and hasn’t figured it out yet, lol, but it use to take her about 30 seconds to eat her food, and she would choke and throw up. This feeder makes her take at least 15 minutes to eat. She hasn’t figured it out but that’s okay because there is no more choking.

I love the concept and had high hopes for this slow feeder but sadly will be returning. My three shepskies figured out that the top will just pop off with the first use. The lids came off multiple times during breakfast with just a flick of their nose.

Decent Quality – Nice sturdy build – does not lock down if dog decides to pick-up and flip it to open.Our lab immediately started to use as intended, then when frustrated with the delay to get food she simply started picking it up in an attempt to shake food out, only a matter of time before the two arrows lined up on their own and she picked up and dumped it, kibble everywhere and she inhaled it, hah..Design is intuitive and should work for folks that don’t have an aggressive eater type dog. or a smaller dog that would not be able to take this into their mouth.We placed it at the wide-open position in hopes she would take some time knowing that the food really was dispensing, but even then, she just found it quicker and easier to pick it up.She’s a lab and we tried working with her to use her paw to turn the top, she paws a few times, gets excited that food is under the ring and flips it.oh, well nice design if they could find a way to lock that upper ring down do that it doesn’t come off no matter what position, they may make it more lab proof.

Great for dogs who like to be challenged!
We bought this for our Sheepadoodle and she never figured it out. She inhales her food so fast that we got this to try to slow her down, but she just pressed her mouth to the openings, which would accidentally turn it sometimes, and she got food that way. While it did slow down her eating, it was not very effective and she would get frustrated and leave food behind after awhile.This dog, however, stared at her while she tried to eat from this bowl several days in a row, and one day refused her bowl and tried to eat from this one. She got it right away and loves it!The downside…this is our 2nd one because we learned all the pieces can go into the dishwasher except the top, clear ring. It melted and deformed, making the bowl pointless. So we repurchased this yellow one and just put the clear ring on the blue bowl since we could not get the blue anymore.Will definitely buy again if it is still available when we need it. Our dog loves the game to play to eat!

Herding Breed gives it 5-stars
I have a Mini Australian Shepherd and I recently discussed his growing anxiety with my vet. He said these herding breeds need a job or they get bored which often results in either anxiety or destructive behavior. Since I donât have any sheep to herd, the vet recommended introducing some puzzle devices to stimulate his mind so I ordered one of these. I put his kibble in it for supper last night and he took to it immediately, figuring out very quickly how to use his paw to spin the top and release the food. I could tell he was enjoying it and really getting into the process. Keep in mind, heâs a little guy at only 19 lbs. so only gets 1/3 cup of kibble twice daily. It took him about 15 minutes to empty the bowl. I needed to supervise this activity because sometimes heâd get overly excited and grab it too hard, scooting it around the room trying to dump it. Iâm pretty sure if I hadnât removed it once emptied, he would have completely taken it apart and chewed on it. We used it again this morning for breakfast and he was excited to see it. If you have a larger dog, you might need to figure out a way to secure it to the floor. I tried it on my other dog; a Yorkie/Poodle mix. She just didnât get it. I never could teach her to use her foot to spin the top. Her technique was to shove her tongue as far as possible into the food dispenser hole and then circle around it. I was able to snag this bowl at the price of $19.00 so I consider it a good value and the Aussie does actually seem more content after using it.

Ok, but not really a puzzle
This isn’t really a ‘puzzle’…the dog just has to move the wheel around to let food out. If they dog moves the tray / wheel around enough, they could eat all their food for the 24 hours in one sitting. Not a great design.

Great concept but puppy destroyed
This toy is a great concept, but my four-month-old puppy figured out how to get the lid lined up to the spot where it pops off and then proceeded to chew off the black stabilizing posts on the inner ring. She was able to get food out of the slot, but got annoyed with it and preferred to chew the toy rather than eat her dinner. It would be nice if this item were made of more sturdy material.I’d suggest you know your dog and their temperament and the likelihood of destroying this before purchasing.
