A very nice easy to use restraint for the vehicle.
This is exactly what I was looking for (and likely what you are as well, if you are reading this.) For any dog under 50lbs or so this is perfect as a vehicle crash restraint in concert with a good chest harness that incorperates a metal D-Ring. I would not recommend this for large breed dogs, but the model with the stronger aluminum caribiner should be fine up to 100lbs in my opinion. In my mind its not the strap that is the weak point but its single connection point to the harness and its Zinc carabiner construction, If you go to the model with the Aluminium construction you have a significantly stronger connection. For a heavy breed I would look for a harness that was multipoint. In any event no matter the size of the dog, this would certainly restrain them as far as to keep them from leaving the scene under their own power, I’m just referring to restraint in a head-on collision situation. The same company that makes another nearly identical model that has an aircraft aluminium carabiner… Aluminium is nearly 10x stronger than Zinc! See the table below and you will appreciate the difference that would be in yor favor in a collision. The mechanical properties of zinc are tabulated below….Mechanical Properties.Properties Metric ImperialTensile strength 37 MPa 5370 psiAluminum 6061-T6; 6061-T651Physical Properties Metric EnglishUltimate Tensile Strength 310 MPa 45000 psiTensile Yield Strength 276 MPa 40000 psiTurning back to this product, It (and its counterpart with the aluminium biner) are perfect for what I wanted. Small enough to roll up and fit into the zipper pocket on my backpack. It actually came with a nice faux silk drawstring bag in which to store it, If you would like to keep it in a seat pocket or a glove box. It will connect to either a standard Seat Belt connection OR an integral child saftey restraint point that are located in the crevice or on the back of many rear seats in modern vehicles. This enables you to anchor your pet so they don’t become a missile in a colission. It is length adjustible in the same way as a backpack strap and has a spring loaded effect to absorb forward energy generated from a sudden stop or from your pet trying to pull against it. I have not taken a knife to mine to try and cut it, but it seems extremely sturdy and the exterior shell is a ballistic nylon while it appears to have something like a kevalar stretch core similar to a tow rope in it…that allows it to absorb some of the force. The connection points for the seat end are stamped steel and as stong as any seatbelt or car saftey seat device and the connection point for the harness end is either a zinc alloy or aircraft aluminium carabiner depending on the model you purchase.I will be returning the one I purchased and buying one with the aircraft aluminium carabiner… I suggest you purchase the other model as well…IOKHEIRA Dog Seat Belt, Updated 3-in-1 Multifunctional Pet Safety Belt Reflective Bungee Dog Car Harness with Hook Latch & Seatbelt Buckle, Swivel Aluminum CarabinerI intend to keep a device like this in every vehicle I own.

Works perfectly
Used on a recent 4-day trip. Kept our 50 lb dog well secured and held up well. Like the built-in shock absorber.

Perfect
My puppy wants to go everywhere but is all over the place, this has helped me keep him safe in place. Great Durability, fits perfectly and adjustment for growth. Looks great and no slippage.

Good for now
This is my first pet seatbelt and I bought 2 of them. I have used them a few times already for my Pitbull and Frenchie. They work well and are strong. The latch and seatbelt buckle hold well. I would suggest to use the latch just in case one of the dogs step on the buckle. Iâve also notice if I forget to lock the mechanism that goes to the harness, the dogs can get loose. Or If Iâm not careful I can accidentally unlock it, theyâll get loose. If it had a more secure locking device I would rate it a 5. I also suggest you get different colors if you have multiple dogs. I have each dog set to a different length due to their size and if Iâm in a rush, Iâll mix it up and would have to change to the right one. Overall Iâm happy with my purchase.

This Is The One You Want
Iâve been using it daily for several weeks now, and feel confident enough to finally leave a review. Iâll start with what I like so you donât have to scroll as much, but the details of my situation and dog are provided at the bottom of this review. This is a solid product. Lightweight yet rugged. Iâm not an expert on stitching, but I do know how to tell good stitching vs shoddy, cheap stitching. And this safety leash is stitched quite well, which is very important considering its purpose. The carabiner appears to be of much better materials and quality than similar products. The slide-locking bar on the carabiner is also a huge plus for me. The size of the carabiner is just right, and itâs designed with the dogâs comfort in mind.Having two anchor attachment points for either a hook-type latch or seatbelt buckle is fantastic. I mostly use the latter, but there are times when the other option is necessary. This thing has already performed its duty honorably on a number of occasions. The first was the day I received it, which was completely my fault. I forgot to shorten the length a bit, and also accidentally rolled my vehicleâs rear windows all the way down. My dog is in the early stages of being trained properly. So when she saw another dog as we parked in my brotherâs driveway, she seized her opportunity. She was sitting and looking peacefully out the window as I turned off the ignition. Three seconds later, after unfastening my own seatbelt and stepping out of the SUV, I was shocked to discover that she was already outside too, her entire body hanging outside the rear window, dangling against the side exterior of the door. She wasnât injured, nor did she even look all that uncomfortable, really. She just looked equal parts surprised and embarrassed. So as far as Iâm concerned, Iâve already gotten my moneyâs worth.Backstory:I recently adopted a two-year-old German Shepherd/ Husky (and possibly Black Lab) mix from the pound. She weighs around 70lbs at the moment and is incredibly strong. Unfortunately, she had never been leash trained or socialized with other animals. As a result, she would pull with all her might on walks (and on a car safety leash as it turns out), especially if she saw another dog. When that happens, she would (and sometimes still does) somehow find even more strength, putting everything sheâs worth into running over to introduce herself. So I knew we definitely needed one of these for more than just protecting her in the event of an accident/collision. It prevents her from jumping out the window (when length is correctly adjusted), crawling into the front seat, and from trying to jump out of the vehicle when the door is opened. In summary, Iâm a big fan of this product. My name is Tyler, and I approve this message (and product).

Very sturdy and easy to install
I love this dog strap for my car! It hooks into seat belt latch or it can latch to the then what you call them latches under seat. I prefer latch to seat belt. Easier to hook and unhook. I have a 11 lb dog so he is not going to accidentally unlatch. Best solution to allowing him to be safe but long enough for him to look out window!

Seems sturdy
We end up looping it around a headrest rod and clipping it to itself, while clipping the other end to our yorkieâs harness. This keeps him from climbing into my lap and from falling over during a sudden brake. Allows me to focus on driving.

Well made
I use this in my car and it is better made than most I have bought in the past

we use it on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner and are able to roll our rear windows all the way down and not worry about the dogs jumping out and they and move freely. Also if you have a dog that loves to instantly jump out as the hatch opens it prevents them from doing so and possibly getting hurt

We got this for our 35 pound dog who likes to move around a lot in the back seat and hates seatbelts. Unfortunately this was not restrictive enough and she was able to climb up on the backs our our seats etc. Fortunately we had some friends for dinner who were complaining about the harness for their Samoyed not working well. So we traded. They seem pretty happy with the results, and so do we. I’d recommend this for larger dogs. It is well made and easy to use.
