Fabulous summer gear
Spent years and $$$ trying to keep my 110 lb GSD-mix cool in No CA summers. The other type ,the sort where you wet it, wring it out and drape it across the dogs back, was useless- just a wet blanket. Doubtful it did anything to cool my RudiBoy.Finally here is something that makes sense, works great to cool him and to keep him cool, is very lightweight and breathable vs restricting air circulation and hey, it just plain works!!!I put one set of frozen cubes (grateful for the 2 sets of ice cube sheets provided!) into the harness whenever we go for a walk in any temp above 75°. Rudi has an exceptionally thick coat being an Eastern European Shepherd (GSD x Russian bear dog) so suffers in any warm temps. Of course if it’s too warm we stay indoors. Walking the usual routes I noticed he doesn’t overheat as easily with this harness, by far. An exceptionally noticeable difference. Upon returning home I remove the leash only, keeping this harness on while he cools down from the walk. The amount of time it takes til he stops panting has decreased dramatically! He seems so much more comfortable with this cool harness! This is a very intelligent design, placing the pockets for the various ice sheets just where they are needed, and no excess material where it’s not. Here’s the design:- The dark grey outer material is nylon, so lightweight and cool. Minimum coverage, no unnecessary material.- Inner pockets to hold the ice sheets are light grey/off-white mesh on the inner dog side, to allow max transfer of the cooling ice. The ice sheets keep nicely within their pockets by a strip of Velcro at top openings. So far, after a week’s usage, seems to work great, no surprise openings. Overall the entire thing is quite impressive in how well it’s constructed, how well it’s sewn and made, down to the smallest details.- The ice sheets themselves are plastic sheets with square pockets filled with hygienic water. The longest, the chest sheet, is 2 x 6 squares, the 2 rib sheets are 2 x 4 squares and the collar 2@ 1 x 4 squares. Seems to do the trick!- The collar, which is more u shaped than round to fit better, can be used independent of the chest part. It’s thin enough to keep on til it melts (even over an hour indoors after walks) with the dog’s regular collar on.- The rest of the body harness attaches to the collar with a strap that runs from the chest part thru a simple plastic rectangular closure on the collar, turning over onto itself with Velcro. This is therefore adjustable to your dog’s body length. There’s plenty of leeway for adjustment and so far the Velcro seems sturdy and holding well.- The chest part is like the long part of an inverted “T”, where the 2 shorter sides are furthest from the neck, wrapping over the ribs to close , with multiple Velcro bands, over his back. There are so many Velcro closures I’m sure they will fit any variety of dog breeds in girth. Like most German Shepherd varieties, Rudi has a broad chest at 37″, yet the Velcro provides not only ample room to close the harness, but they are spaced in groups far enough apart that I can run his poop bag holder and even the length of the leash between them. Very useful, practical.I am not only satisfied with this cooling harness, I am totally impressed and my dog is far happier being cooler than either without, or with anything else we’ve tried. Highly, highly recommend!!!

This is a godsend during this heatwave (Aug 2023)
My 85 pound brindle boxer has always overheated, but this summer has been especially rough on the old guy. I knew I had to do something for him, and this is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Evaahh! It puts ice exactly in the areas my boys needs to cool down without any unnecessary bulk. He’s a boxer, so he has a ginourmous chest that tapers down quickly to his waist, so finding doggie stuff that fits him has always been a challenge. This XL size fits nearly perfectly. The only thing that could help is a longer velcro piece on the elastic strap that connects the collar with the vest, to help keep the vest more forward on his body. The only issue I’ve seen is that the vest gets a bit too close to his junk, so peeing while he wears it is an issue. So using it on a walk does not work for my dog; I use it solely after a walk to help him cool down and it does the job extremely well.It comes with two complete sets of ice packs, which is more than plenty for after-walk use. I would recommend getting just this set, then get additional ice packs later if you need them.

A Must-Have for Summer
The sizing is accurate. My dog weighs in at 125 lbs and it just barely fits securely. According to their chart 120 lbs is the top end so I am pleased it works. He pants noticably less and roadtrips are already so much less stressful. It comes with an extra set of ice packs. The first photo is right after a 3 hour drive in 87 degree heat. He felt comfortable enough to jump right in bed after a change to fresh ice sheets. Unheard of.

Missing the extra ice pack
We ordered two of these for our boxers. One of them had the extra ice packs as described on the packaging; the other did not.

A must for any dog in the heat.
LOVE THIS! I have a working draft dog; Tibetan Mastiff who does parades pulling a wagon. Between his heat-resistant dog boots and this vest he can safely work without fear of overheating. Iâve been training dogs for over 30 years and am so glad someone has FINALLY designed a cooling vest that puts the ice exactly where it is most affected; at the ribs to cool the lungs. Diogo pant to cool try to bring in cooler air to the lungs which then cools the blood, in turn cooling the body. By placing ice packs around the chest it helps cool the blood much faster and more efficiently than the dog can do for itself when taking in hot air. This does not leave condensation on your floors when worn inside. Iâm a customer for this for life.

Excellent In Summer’s Heatwave
We had weeks where the temperature didn’t drop below a hundred too often and it’s very humid here. There are limits to how well any cooling product can keep a double-coated dog who never gets cold cool in this climate. Even after short walks in this weather, I used to have to spend an hour on a cool concrete floor to watching my dog heaving from breathing heavily. I worried constantly through that process. Once I got this product — and BTW it came with multiple ice compartments — heavy breathing often didn’t happen anywhere near as often as before. We still cooled off in the basement before coming upstairs but nothing like before. This was the second ice vest I tried.

Cooled her
This worked and she didnât try to get it off, I think Velcro should be different for putting it on-wider pieces perhaps, maybe wider neck piece, I think that would be easier to put it on and cool better

Saving grace for dogs during hot summers
My senior ridgeback is becoming more and more sensitive to temperature fluctuations especially when the temps get up in the 80s+ here in California. I love having multiple ice pack inserts on hand in the freezer for her so that I can change them out throughout the day to keep her comfortable. I love this product but just wished the ice packs would last longer somehow or be a bigger footprint. Hopefully thereâs a v2.0 in the works!
