    Active Cane Corso Approved , a 10/10!
As you may know cane corsos are quite the picky eaters! Whenever we go to the vet or visit the pet stores, even the holistic/organic concept local stores, they always offer treats. My pup is the one who turns his nose away, he can care less as he is not interested. So I have to say with him being so picky, Orijen to him IS the better choice!I love the fact that I can rotate his food without have to worry about upsetting his stomach. He has so far enjoyed the puppy -grain free, tundra, six fish, and regional red varieties. All of which he has truly enjoyed! The kibble is pretty decent in size, with the puppy kibble being a bit smaller than the others. We keep the kibble stored in a vault for freshness and longevity. We have not had any allergic reactions, or experienced any issues with digestive upset. He isn’t scratching, scooting, or licking himself crazy. His coat remains healthy-looking and shiny, with little to no shedding.Orijen also makes freeze dried treats which we use for training in combination with his kibble ( both work great and keep him engaged). Overall a great brand of kibble that offers a variety of healthy options to keep in rotation for the high protein diet!10/10, Cane Corso approved and recommended!

My Two Standard Poodles Love This Food! They will eat it like treats, too!
    >.. Orijen is possibly the most respected dry dog food available to the average US consumer. So much so, that there have been reports of bags of dog food looking like these being imported from Asia. [Orijen is only in North America] Having a responsible source for this food is important to my dogs.>.. Is this inexpensive? NO. it runs about $4.00 per pound at the time I write this. I know, I was shocked too, unless you compare ingredients in this food with other pet food offered. Primary ingredients are wild meats, fish, poultry. Not by-products, but meat suitable to be offered to human consumers. These meats are then processed enough to get down to weight and size needed. Then they are mixed with grasses and other plant foods (20-25%) as mimicked in natural dog eating habits. with the primary (80%) of the kibble being meat – human eatable meat [not rejected for human consumption] then processed. Now, the cost is seen by me as reasonable.>.. This all started when I found my dogs ignoring their daily chow. They would nibble at the kibble and lick the canned food, but were not interested in really eating it. I bought more expensive – “premium” dog food and the same result, not really interested. Then I went to “super premium” commercial dog food, same result, partially interested, but not eager eaters. So I researched dog food and stumbled on two items of interest. 1. Orijen Dog Foods. and 2. raw diets for dogs.>.. What my research had found was that most of my dog’s dry and canned foods were starchy carbohydrates and not protein centered. And even the “no grain” dog foods were filled with potatoes, or other starchy foods (cassava was the latest starch I saw) which dogs have no real ability to digest. These commercial dog foods were trying to emulate the Standard American Diet, not the foods that carnivores eat in the wild.>.. Carnivores (meat eaters) usually consume a fair amount of meat and some other stuff (like fur, bones, etc.) from eating their prey straight from the kill. Orijen does it’s best to replicate this balance in their product, thus keeping the cost for them, and the price for us, at an higher than normal level. But the QUALITY is much HIGHER than most commercial, premium and super-premium pet foods. My dogs are very eager eaters, now. And I have used the kibble, by itself, and a training treat for them as well. They love it!>.. Because foods that are vacuum sealed often lose their goodness if not maintained under vacuum, I open the bag, and then fill 1 quart vacuum bags with the food, and reseal the extra food under vacuum. This can take some time, effort and cost, but if I am paying a premium price, I ought to maintain it as best I can. I usually get about 15 vacuumed sealed bags out of a 25 pound bag, and I open one only when I need to get more dry dog food. The rest are stored, vacuum sealed, out of the sunlight, and at a cool temperature until needed. My primary use of the Orijen is to supplement the raw food diet I prepare for my dogs. I feed each of them 1 pound raw food, and then add the Orijen to supplement to the Calorie level my Veterinarian has suggested.>.. I might be a bit obsessed about my dogs food, but it is the most common and best way to see that I contribute to their ongoing good health.

  3. Food, Glorious Food!

My happy, healthy dogs LOVE this kibble.
My dogs LOVE this kibble! They are going on 3 and 4 years old. One of my dogs is grain sensitive and used to have non-stop rashes and itchy skin before I switched to this diet. Since I switched to the diet outlined below they haven’t had a day sick, a single tummy upset or a skin rash. I also struggled with them being a bit too heavy. I didn’t want to cut them down any more because they were SO hungry. I rotate my dogs through the various flavors. My vet said that it is best not to rely on one protein source as dogs may get food sensitivities and/or bored with it.I used to buy the Orijen Arcana but don’t anymore because it is lower protein. I give my dogs fresh produce (fresh raw chopped vegetables once a day, and tiny quantities of fruit (I always check what dogs can and cannot have before giving them any produce) so they don’t need the higher percentage of dried fruit and vegetables included the Arcana kibble.I also mix this kibble with Primal raw frozen nuggets so they get fresh meat with every meal, and they get one raw meaty bone each week (I buy the Primal bones from Pet Club). I felt weird about giving them dry kibble alone as that might be convenient for us, but I feel that it would be like us eating protein/energy type bars for every meal. I strongly feel that dogs (and humans) need fresh, raw ingredients too.I also give my dogs a spoonful of lactose free (a lot of dogs can’t digest lactose) plain yogurt with one meal a day. One of my rescues came to me with a yeast infection due to the gross diet (you don’t want to know) she was subjected to, at the very shonky “rescue” place. Our vet put her on a couple of courses of probiotics and recommended I give her yogurt each day to cure the infection. They both loved it so I saw no reason to stop. The probiotics and calcium can only be a good thing in my opinion, and if I run out they sit by thier bowls waiting after they eat, ’cause they know its missing! For treats I give them Canidae Grain Free dog treats as they are very low calorie, small, firm, chewy treats that can be put in your pocket without them disintegrating during a walk or training. It took me a lot of time to sort out what worked best for us. I am not an expert, but my dogs love thier food and my vet says that they are in perfect health and at the perfect weight, and that thier diet couldn’t be better, so perhaps this info might help someone put together a complete diet for thier dog. Here is what I feed them twice a day:All dogs are different, but my 18lb dog (who was a slightly overweight 21lb dog before this diet) gets:- 1/4 cup Orijen kibble twice a day.-1 thawed primal meat nugget twice a day. I rotate through the various Primal Frozen meat nuggets. You can also buy these freeze dried and reconstitute them with water but I prefer giving them the raw primal nuggets. In the morning I add a spoonful of plain lactose-free yogurt to thier dishes. And in the evening I add about 1/4 cup produce instead of the yogurt. Generally a mix of two items – either chopped green beans, cucumber, broccoli, carrots, cooked squash (I use canned organic non-sweetened, plain – beware pie pumpkin with spices) red, yellow, green peppers, a little romaine, other leafy greens – sometimes a couple blueberries, pieces of apple, orange, pineapple, melon etc.My 11lb dog gets exactly the same except she gets a bit less than half of of the kibble that I give 18lb dog at each meal.Once a week I give them thier dinner minus the primal frozen nugget and then give them a raw meaty or marrow bone which they gnaw on for hours. It helps clean thier teeth too.Hope this info is of use to someone. If so, please click “helpful” as I spend a lot of time on my reviews hoping to perhaps help someone, and I also believe in supporting great products! I am happy to answer any questions. I couldn’t be happier with the quality of this kibble.

    For Ultimate Health and Coat
ORIJEN Regional Red and the vegetables I eat has been their diet since eating adult dog food They have had no health issues. Very healthy and their coats are beautiful. I have tried feeding my dogs many other highly rated dog foods through the years. Orijen dog food has ended my search. Highly recommended. Check with your vet. They will agree.

El producto caduca en un mes. Mi perro no lo terminará en un mes. Así que, o lo tiro o se lo doy caducado. Dado que el coste es muy elevado, habría preferido un producto más fresco.
