I Loved It, My Dog Showed No Interest
I have 3 dachshunds and all of them have extreme separation anxiety. It breaks my heart so I’ll try anything to comfort them. I thought this was cute. It’s a blue dog stuffed toy. There’s a velcro section that opens and there’s a plastic heart. You can turn it on and have play either lullabies or a heartbeat noise. It also comes with some heat activated pads you can put inside to give your dog the feeling of warmth. I’ve heard good things about this working and mimicking our heartbeats and body heat. I guess my dogs are broken because they have zero interest in it and bark non stop when I put the lullabies on. I wouldn’t not recommend it though, it’s cute and practical, my dogs are just stubborn.

Maybe not the intended use, but still a great companion
My three year old heeler mix used to have a stuffed puppy similar in size to this one. She carried it with her everywhere, slept with it always, it never left her side. To this day I have absolutely no idea what happened to that toy, it seemed to disappear into the abyss and I have not been able to find it after searching for hours. It broke my heart to see her go to her toy box, realized it wasn’t there (it wasn’t ever there because it was too big but anyway), then proceed to look in every room and all over the place for her missing friend. When I saw this product, I was hoping that it could be a potential replacement and I am thrilled to say that has been the case. And almost no time at all, this has completely replaced the role of her previous animal. It is soft, cuddly, just as cute, and she absolutely adores it.I added the lavender one day while she was napping by it, and throughout the next 24 hours it didn’t change her behavior with the toy at all, I’m not sure if it was a positive or negative for her really. Then I was worried that I had ruined everything, because I tried the same thing with the ‘heartbeat’ one night, and she instantly startled and ran away, terrified that her stuffed toy had come to life. I thought she would be freaked out and never touch it again, but thankfully after the heartbeat was removed they are back to being inseparable. I suppose this is quite an expensive toy if you remove those added features, but solely based on the love and enjoyment my pet experiences, I would definitely recommend this.

So cute, my kid swiped it.
I initially got this for a dog who is… well… he feels a lot of feelings for a little dog. We’ve called him a “pandemic dog” because as a puppy, he didn’t get out of the house as often as we would have liked, and he’s a little… attached. This seemed worth trying out. He’s usually receptive to most dog toys, and even though this didn’t have a squeaker (thank goodness), it seemed similar to one of his Kong toys.Well… he didn’t really care about it. The lavender sachet seems to make it smell like lavender to my human nose, so I imagine it’s pretty powerful to dogs. But, it wasn’t something he was interested in. The plastic heart does make heartbeat noises as expected — and I thought it was nice that PetMedics includes the batteries for it. It also has a weird music mode. He didn’t care about either one.The heat packets appear to be two one-time-use packs, not something you could warm up in hot water or a microwave, so that was kind of a bummer — but being summer, I didn’t think he wanted to curl up against something warm anyway.Basically, he looked at it, grabbed one of his squeaky toys, and decided that was more interesting. My kid, on the other hand, thought that this was very soft (it is) and very cute (meh), and ended up swiping it.

Mixed results on calming, but worth a try
Our 9-lb Chi mix was definitely curious about this stuffed toy dog (and it’s as big as he is). He did not like the ticking heartbeat or the music â he left the couch when I turned the heart on â but he did appreciate one of the heatpacks keeping his thin-skinned body warm overnight. The heatpack lasted maybe 18 hours, not the 48 advertised, but it’s replaceable. Our dog is an aggressive chewer, though, and now that the heat pack is gone he seems to think this toy is fair game for tug-of-war or fetch. Not sure if the lavender made any difference at all. At any rate, while this toy wasn’t much help in calming him, he does like it for other reasons.

It seems to soothe my dog a little during thunderstorms
We had a thunderstorm the same day this was delivered. My dog Toby always trembles and hides when there is thunder (or fireworks). He usually either just clings to me like a velcro dog, or hides under a desk. The vet prescribed Trazodone for him, but sometimes we have such sudden unexpected thunderstorms that there’s not enough time to get the medication into him. We’ve tried several things, thunder-style shirts, a music player, cbd products, and those all help a little. We set up a little blanket for him under the desk where he likes to hide, and the day this heartbeat plushie arrived we set the plushie up and put it there on the blanket for him (along with his favorite music player). He laid next to it, and stayed with it even when we left the room. That was really unusual because he normally will follow me wherever I go when he’s feeling scared. So I think it was somewhat soothing to him. We’ve had this a few days now, and tonight as I write this we’re having another bad thunderstorm. He’s back under the desk on his blanket, cuddled up to the plushie with the heartbeat on and his little music player going. I’m glad we got it. It’s not a magic cure, but it does seem to be helping.Another thing I noticed, is that he has not damaged it. He tends to be a little rough with squeaky toy plushies and has damaged some. I was But he seems to understand that this plushie is not for play, because he only lays next to it and has not put his mouth on it at all. I found that interesting.
