I cannot say if this pad is chewproof as my dog is not a chewer. However, she does paw the bottom of her crate when she wants to exit quickly, for example, at meal times to get to her food bowl or to go outside and play ball. In doing so, she scratches the bottom of the crate. I have used several ripstop crate pads in the past. Even the ones which say they cannot be torn eventually get torn. Nothing lasts forever. That said, most of the ripstop crate pads I have used lasted at least 2 or 3 months. Some longer, but they are not cheap.I saw this and the price was really cheap. It seemed too good to be true. You know the old saying, if it seems to be too good to be true, it probably is. Okay, this pad was cheap and generally you get what you pay for. Needing a replacement and being low on funds, I wanted a stop gap pad to use until I got my paycheck. So I went for this one, thinking it would at least be good for a few weeks after which I could get a more expensive pad. But this pad LASTED LESS THAN ONE DAY, LASTED ONLY A FEW HOURS.My dog, a medium sized German Shepherd female, is not a continuouos crate scratcher but only does so at during those times I mentioned, and then for no more than 10 or 15 seconds. So I was stunned to find this pad torn apart only a few hours after putting it in her crate.Ralph Nader used to say of a car, “unsafe at any speed”…as for this crate pad, I would warn buyers, “not worth it at any price.” Caveat Emptor.

Dog Crate Pad
This crate pad is nice but definitely not chew-proof. The fabric seems pretty heavy and kind of thick. Definitely washable which is great. But my big dog started chewing on it about an hour after we put it in place putting several holes in it right away. I guess nothing fabric is indestructible , but he seems to like it.New Note 11/10/23: Well, I have to give this pad 4 stars instead of 3 now. We’ve had it since September. The dog really seems to like it and likes going to his crate to lie down on it. He hasn’t chewed it since the first week he had it. I have washed it at least a dozen times and it’s held up fine even with some little holes from his chewing. I will be buying another one of these when this one wears out.

Definitely NOT chew proof
Two stars because this mat is pretty. However, that’s it, just pretty. This mat didn’t even last one night with my puppy. Ripped to shreds in no time. Disappointed is an understatement. 🙁

Perfect for a niche need!
I didn’t think it would be that challenging to find a waterproof/canvas-y kennel mat with some padding, but boy was I wrong!Not only did this check all the boxes of being both comfortable and easy to clean ….all the fun dog fluids… off of (most mats are sherpa – I could never), it comes in unique colors and not just….drab or black. II was very pleased with the amount of padding, I would say like a couple of human yoga mats stacked in thickness/plush.My dogs are not kennel chewers or diggers so I expect them to hold up to the usual laying/light pawing well, which is what a durable mat should do (NOT for dogs that have anxiety and will pick and pick, nor is any mat really).We got half-size mats to see if they like them, and I would happily order full size ones from the same brand if the dogs give it the green light!

When this arrived, it had a weird plastic smell which I hoped would dissipate. It made my dog smell like chemicals. After two washes and being left six weeks to air out, it hasn’t gone away.The dog also chewed into it quite quickly. The material and the stitching are not tough enough to withstand nibbles.For a little more money, you can afford a way better bed.

J’ai récemment acheté le tapis Downtown Pet Supply pour mon animal de compagnie et je suis globalement très satisfait. Le tapis est de bonne qualité, confortable et semble durable. Mon animal l’a tout de suite adopté, ce qui est un excellent signe. De plus, il est facile à nettoyer, ce qui est un gros plus pour moi. La seule raison pour laquelle je ne donne pas 5 étoiles, c’est que j’aurais aimé qu’il soit un peu plus épais pour plus de confort. Malgré cela, je recommande ce tapis à tous les propriétaires d’animaux !Mon chien est un Rottweiller de 100 lbs.
